The more I interact with black people on the west coast vs other geographic areas, the more I'm seeing a big disconnect between those on the front lines and those who are VERY confused on their location within the larger civil (human) rights movement going on today.

It is as if they would rather throw tantrums at white privilege without having to do the real work of architecting a new system to replace white supremacy within the areas that impact their personal lives.

It 's the Age of Self syndrome and the wanting to shine to be THE ONE

And it runs so counter to what is really needed.

And it's too many of them to round up and slap the shit out of them.

Half of them came from the mid-west where they are still suffering from "know your place" and are just happy to be in tech without really understanding that we have to do the hard work of becoming skilled to use those skills toward our liberation.

They accumulate a collection of scraps from the master's table, enough to form a plate and they hold it up as a shiny example of what you could achieve.

Idk what it is. But with a lot of da black folks out here that haven't experienced blatant, outright racism, they act as though they wouldn't know it if it slapped 'em in da face. Folks wanna act as though shit out here is all peachy and will try to have others assume da same, but coming to da West from a lifetime in da South, I pick da shit up as soon as it arises and folks wanna act like I'm talkin' outta my ass when I point shit out to 'em regardless of how subtle it may seem to them. Muthafuckas have no qualms about falling in line. It's sickening to see. I've even had others tell me that they're sick of hearing about it and that "everything isn't racist or like it is down South" when I point out shit to 'em. It's baffling to see.
