I don't have a problem with all that. I tip people for stuff. I hate my older kids cause they are cheap as fook and barely tip people. My youngest always does. I'm talking like DoorDash or in a restaurant.
My gripe is this new thing of if I'm ordering food to go at a place like WingStop or Subway or ModPizza. Why am I being shoved this tip thing in my face then the guilt look. This started prior to Covid and thought it was messed up. I order Chinese take out, at the counter, why am I tipping them, for what? Getting the bag from the back?
As for tipping wait staff in a restaurant. I am diff. I don't even care if I got a bad waitress, I still tip them and think to myself, they may be new or having a bad day, I still tip. And I mean I still tip the same, which is 20%, as it's the quickest math I do in my head, 10% x 2.
My wife sometimes cringes when we get bad waiters and I do it, but I believe in paying it forward. I just think the person could be having a bad day. Unless stuff is blatant. Then I talk to a manager.
