Its good to have stimulating conversation about Hip Hop. Some cats have it dead on and some are slightly off. The 4 elements is very correct. Beat boxing is a part of Hip Hop but not a solid founding element like the other four. Yes Dougie Fresh is hip hop but he is also a Mic Controller, Master of Ceremonies aka an MC. Hip Hop is a culture as a whole, rap is a fraction of what Hip Hop really is

Emceeing
Break Dancing
Beat Boxing (Often Excluded)
Graffitti​

1. Then Where does Poppin and Lockin come in? Because if you ask legends like Wiggles or Legs, they will tell you that those are distinct Dance forms seperate from Breakin with their own West Coast History yet they are a part of the Culture. in 1975 The Lockers on a trip to NYC met up with Zulu Nation and Taught the KINGS how to POP and they KINGS taught them how to BREAK.. True story. This is how Poppin came to NYC. You gonna take Don Campbelrock and Poppin Pete and Boogooloo Sam out the History Books?

2. AREOSOL ART is one thing but Taggin with Markers is another thing. Markers are not AREOSOL CANS. Taggin came from CornBread and Cool Earl in Philly. Made its way to NYC via TOP CAT and became infamous because of TAKI... You still aint gonna give Taggin with Makers its Props? Without Taggin, there would be no Areosol Art and dudes still Tag to this day with PILOT FAT TIP MARKERS!

The 5th Element is KNOWLEDGE But just like the Periodic Table of Elements in Science, MORE ELEMENTS were Discovered and Defined After 1982.. We got BEAT BOXING, We got FASHION, We got a Whole new set of DANCES. We got a LANGUAGE with many Different Dialects all across the world now.

But you say they were defined 10 years ago??? Now if you are who you say you are, you should have known the elements were defined since the Late 1970's. The Culture had its name before the Sugar Hill Gang.

How come the Rap Mania DVD was different from the Original PPV... and was there some Extra LUKE FOOTAGE missing because I heard he performed but I didn't see it on PPV?

I had deal for different segments. Luke and PUBLIC ENEMY NEVER PERFORMED. I was told if they performed that it would not air in certain markets or at all . I spoke to Luke and Chuck and they told me to go ahead and continue. At that time Public Enemy had the Griff JEW statement and Luke had the BORN IN THE USA PROBLEM..
But is was a 1st and never done again until I did Sister in the name of rap with all the females rappers. I'm working on HIP HOP 35 with 100 artists. REMEMBER rapmanina had 50 rap groups performing and it cost me 2 mil to do the show in 1990..
