MJ had to keep the image of an upstanding citizen. Tiger had to keep the image of THE upstanding citizen. There is a severe difference. No one look at Jordan as the perfect person, just the PERFECT athlete. Tiger was looked upon as the perfect person.

well one way is that outside of jesper parnevik, no other players have come out and spoken against tiger. id be willing to bet any amount of money that the powers that be at the pga sent a memo down to everyone that if you're not offering words of encouragement etc, to keep that shit to yourself.

Golfers Hammer Tiger Woods: 'A Phony And A Fake'

Life & Style observes that numerous golfers have harshly criticized Tiger Woods in light of his burgeoning scandal. The magazine highlights Jesper Parnevik's criticism of Woods, a blistering string of comments in which he said he hopes Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, "uses a driver next time instead of a 3-iron," regarding her reported use of golf clubs on Woods' SUV.

But Parnevik isn't the only golfer speaking out. Ben Crane said Woods is "a phony and a fake and he can't retain that squeaky-clean endorsement deal any longer." For the time being, Tiger Woods' major sponsors -- including Nike and Tag Heuer -- haven't dropped him. But things could change in the wake of a messy, public divorce. In fact, many of Tiger's colleagues in the golf world have already made up their minds about the situation -- and wasted no time badmouthing their former friend. Jesper Parnevik, the Swedish golfer who introduced Elin, then his kids' nanny, to Tiger, has said he regrets doing so. "We probably thought he was a better guy than he is," Parnevik said.

Ben Crane, a PGA player, has even harsher words. "This is no surprise to anyone who knows Tiger," Crane tellsLife & Style. "He's a phony and a fake and he can't retain that squeaky-clean endorsement deal any longer." Crane also believes Elin may have known about Tiger's other women. "She's no fool," Crane says, adding that perhaps Elin "turned a blind eye because of the money and the kids and the lifestyle he provides."

PGA golfer Charles Warren agrees that it may have been more than love that attracted Elin to Tiger but that she should definitely leave him in light of what's happened. "She was very young when Jesper introduced them," Warren tells Life & Style. "She had stars in her eyes and maybe dollar signs too. But no, she should not stay with him. What kind of message would that send to her sister and mother and all the women out there? That your husband can be a bastard but as long as he makes the deal worthwhile, you'll stay?"

Other golfers are so jealous of his endorcement deals. Not only is he killing them on the tour, but he gets fees just to show up AND endorcement deals. Saying to the media "She should leave him. What kind of message would that send to her sister and mother and all the women out there? That your husband can be a bastard but as long as he makes the deal worthwhile, you'll stay?" Fuck Charles Warren...hold up...WHO? I'm rooting against this mofo from now on. I hope he double bogeys every hole.

People really need to put all this stuff with Tiger in a historical perspective.

Anyone here who has read "UNFORGIVABLE BLACKNESS" should recall the W.E.B. DuBois quote at the start of the book in regards to Jack Johnson, Boxing, and the hypocrisy of White society. Substitute Tiger for Johnson and Golf for Boxing, and shit is very telling...

Michael Jordan did have handlers but he also had the NBA downplaying his shit as well..

And remember..Tiger was able to get away with fucking ALL these hoes for 5 years. As sloppy as he looks now don't you think he would have been busted long before 2 weeks ago?

The thing is MJ didn't have the kind of leverage over the NBA that Tiger has on the PGA.

Its like this..Tiger WAS such a huge influence on the sport that if he wanted to set up his own league some years down the line..He would bring at least HALF of the viewership and sponsorship with him.

If MJ decided to play in europe it wouldn't decrease rating too much for the NBA they would just develop the next superstar. Look at how easily kobe, AI, lebron etc stepped into the space when MJ retired.

My contention is that Tiger had gotten too powerful and was only getting more so with every Masters win so he had to be taken down.

His image had to be damaged enough so that even if he does continue to win (and he will) he won't be as powerful as he was before.

Again..look at how this is playing out. 14+ women ALL come out of the woodwork and start giving intimate details about their relationship with Tiger. Isn't it kinda strange and unnecessary the details we've been told he's well endowed and a great lover who likes to have rough sex..did anyone ASK that question? Of all the cheating men we've seen in the past did any other hoes feel the need to give such details?

And while Tiger is a cheating bastard he still gets high marks for sex?? A few of those women who were involved with him said they were "falling" for him then were hurt to find out he was cheating on THEM with someone else or that they were just being used of sex period yet STILL give him good credit in bed...when has a women ever complimented a man's dick size or sexual prowess after he's done her wrong or fucked with her head?

It seems that Tiger can be embarrassed but not totally humiliated. Again..they don't want him completely gone..just not as powerful as he was before now.

Even if they did, they would never comment on it. Just like the NFL, MLB, of PGA would never comment on an athlete's infidelity. To prove what I am saying, have you ever heard the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, or PGA comment on a players jump offs??? No, because no pro sports entity does that.

People need to stop trying to blame the PGA. They would lose more $$$ if they railroaded Tiger. So, its in the best interest for the PGA to keep tiger on the tour.

Next, its been reported that some of those ho's tiger was fucking were looking for reality show deals a while back. This shows their motivation. Trust me, everyone of these jumpoffs was storing shit on Tiger to release when the $$ was right. The Reason why they came out now is the whole thing with Tigers wife, the truck, and the golf club. The iron is hot now. This is the leading story in the media so outlets like TMZ are paying big $$$ for dirt on Tiger. I also don't think this is the first time Tiger has been BUSTED by his wife for cheating. This is just the first time we are hearing of this.

Like I said before, Tiger needed a good handler. He could have handled this whole mess with a good PR group too. Look as Dave Letterman. He was doing the same sort of thing with employees. His PR firm handled that shit, now people aren't even talking about it.

While we worry about Tiger's wood and where it's been, a health care plan will be passed that is going to enhance Insurance companies ability to get deeper in your pocket and decide weather you get treated or not.
