According to the Kemetic principles the soul would be cleansed and allowed to start again. They had no hell. Not in the concept of Western religions.
Two things. Thanks to advancements in medicine people have died and came back from the other side. Some have had horrific stories, others have had utopia stories. My personal belief (emphasis on personal) is that religious indoctrination swayed their ideas.
Secondly African ancestors (the oldest people on the planet and the progenitors of spirituality) have created civilizations based upon the spiritual belief that we do not die in the spiritual form and go on to live eternal. Some even have said that we come back to experience life again. None of them have ever spoken of a westernized version of hell. Fire and brim stone. The closest you can get to that would be the Kemetic spiritual system and even they do not speak of fire and brim stone. Only the destruction of the wicked part of the soul.

Energy can not be created nor destroyed. It can only change forms. The energy that animates your body can not be destroyed. Only released and change forms. Understanding this concept then it stands to reason that death is not the end. It is but a mere piece to a cycle.

What happens when we die, and if God, and hell, exists, is simply unknowable. However, I believe God, and hell, exists--albeit not necessarily as defined, and understood, by religion. For example, God and hell, as some think them to be, may be the collection of laws, and rules, that governs the Cosmos, time, and existence. What we think of as hell may be a Cosmic product of said rules and laws. So why risk the possibility of languishing in hell for eternity when it's so easy to praise and acknowledge God (whatever He or it may be), and be a good person?
