Is it just or is the NBA boring??

The NBA is boring cause superstars are scared to hold each other back in my day Magic held Bird Bird held Julius Erving these days it pisses me off when superstars don't hold each other like last night Houston and Dallas Why McGrady didn't hold Dirk when Dirk shooting threes over Luther head!! :smh:

The NBA is dull as fuck. No prolific scorers, no one that actually be said is "the Truth". I use to rush to come home to NBA on TNT but that shit has taken the back seat to South Park these days.

there u go rite there
our olympic team gets they ass bust now
that shit never used 2 happen back in the day
we used 2 smack greece lithuania all them niggas
now look at us

Man some of yall getting the term MVP confused with Best player. Nash is the MVP b/c without him the team is shit, even though they got scorers Nash is the glue. That don't mean he's better than Wade, Kobe, LeBron, Shaq, etc. Just means that he means more to his team than any 1 single player.

But I do think the Age limit is going to help some in the long run, however I wish they would make it 20 yrs old or at least 3 years removed from high school like the NFL.

Some of these young whipper-snappers can really benefit from learning the game from a Roy Williams, Boehiem, Pitino, etc etc for 2-3 years rather than being a 1 and done. The 1 year rule is a step in the right direction but I would like to see it extended so that AI wannabees like Dajuan Wagner can learn some skills lol. Plus that way you can really start seeing some more dominating college teams and more big rivalries.

Its gotten boring as hell. The skill sets of the players has gone wayyy down. Hence the USA getting beaten on a regular basis when they play world ball.

My favorite sports as a 30 year old black male from Cleveland are as follows. Basketball IS boring now.

1 Football
2 Baseball
3 Basketball
4 Golf (when Tiger is playing, and still can't watch a whole game)
5 Tennis (when there is some people of color playing)
6 Nascar (on occasion when I am bored I might watch a few laps and the ending)

The NBA games are boring. Far too many foul calls and TV timeouts. The game no longer has any flow to it. Then there's the announcers. They babble on hour after hour and never say anything.

David Stern has pussified the league but I've been enjoying it more the last few years. Before couple of years back yeah it was kinda boring but now every team has at least one all star on their rosters so things are starting to even out. Everyone is picking Dallas or Detroit to win this year but I think its wide open.

I feel the same way, but for altogther different reasons.

I feel todays plaeyrs are better than those in the 1980's era. What bothers me is the slow grind it's become with refs using the whistle more than a traffic cop in the thick of mid day gridlock.

I saw a Knicks game several months ago where both teams took 113 FT's.

113 FT's.

113 FT's!!!!

Basketball varies from other sports where its a free flowing game. But nowadays I can get up to head to the bathroom, sit down to take a shit while reading the NY Times, come out of the shitter feeling like a brand new man only to see the clock has moved 2 minutes into the game because Dwayne Wade has gone to the FT line 5 times in the span that I took in the business and Science section in the paper, wiped my ass, scrubbed my hands throughly, maybe decided to use my tweezers in the bathroom cabinet noticing and ingrown hair taking root.

The game has turned into the charity stripe contest.

It's boring. It's no longer free flowing.

I can't stand it.

Personally the NBA is boring mainly because its become a game of nothing but pick and roll basketball. At worst every other play is the fucking pick and roll and that shit gets boring quick.Offense consists of the 2 man game.Back in the 80's the good teams had multiple players that 20-25 on you any given night.Other than the Mavs and the Suns there really aren't that many teams with more 2 guys who can consistently drop 25 at any time. For example in the 80's you had the Celtics:Bird,Parish,Mchale,DennisJohnson. Lakers:Magic,Worthy,Scott,Cooper.
Sixers:Dr J,Barkley,Mo Cheeks,Moses.
I prefer college ball and now that high schoolers can't skip the quality has gone up.

Back in the days, all a player needed to be equipped with was a jump shot.

The league had ZERO defense back in the days.

Have you ever watched the defensive rotations of yesterdays game? They had none. They wouldn't even put a hand in a players face.

The game is different now because of the rise of specialized defenders now in the league for the sole purpose of defense. That was a rarerity back in the days. Now, almost everyteam has a Scottie Pippen wannabe.
