is it just me or does drake.............

I see your point and everybody know L-Boogie is a
rare instance and enigma at what she was able to do.
And I also believe people will tolerate this type singing/rappin
from a female more than a male artist.

So apples and oranges they are light years not in the same league.

I was watching the Vocab video earlier on. Hands down the illest female MC on the mic.

So what rapper hasn't sung a hook on their own song?

Nah. There is a contrast there though.

I think a lot of cats don't really realize it.

On one note he's simping to the ladies (while singing), but on another note he's bragging about pimping to the fellas (while rapping).

I believe that's a psychological undertone that doesn't agree with a lot of the fellas. And they can't really vibe to it.

Which also could be key to the song's success.

Seeing it for what it is. It's a cool song. Held the summer down.:yes:

It's not something to be tolerated. If they're talented enough to do it, how can you knock 'em for it?

I could see if you thought he had a bad voice, but no one's saying that. Y'all just seem to have a problem with the mere fact that he can do it.

So what, if a rapper comes out who can play the guitar, and incorporates that into his music, y'all gonna knock him as well?

Like it or don't, but there's no need to come up with these artificial reasons.

give drake his props he came to america and took alot of american kats fan base and people are mad now :lol: people need to move on and let the man do what he do and maybe they need to come with more quality material and maybe people would become fans again to them but now drake has a handle on the rap game and he isn't going nowhere so get use to him. :cool:

On that song "Brand New", I thought it was Trey Songz because it sounded like him, him and Drake have a song together and because I saw Trey Songz also had a song named "Brand New" but they're two different songs.

:lol::lol::lol:

its aight i made a drake thread once

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

:lol::yes: Wasn't cats basically criticizing Ja Rule for the same shit cause 50 "said so" then turned around and praised 50 for it and now Drake? Hip hop is one giant popularity contest. The shit ain't about talent @ all.

good point. niggas BASH rule but defend drake. :confused::smh:

That's one of my only knocks on him, as talented as he is as a songwriter, his style is not original. You're exactly right, he raps like Ye' and Wayne and sings like Trey Songz, all dudes he's pretty close to. If you listen to his first mixtape, Room For Improvement, you'll see how he had his own style, delivery and flow. It's only recently he started ripping off these guys flows. It's kind of wack that he does that because he doesn't have to but his music is still better than most of the mainstream crap thats out today, so I guess he gets a pass. Drizzy is coo though.

im bout 2 look 4 that mixtape now. :yes:

This shit is pathetic. If you dont like it dont listen. If u do, then u know the rest. Cats are really upset about this man singing and rapping. Let him persue his hustle. I admit his style has changed from Room for Improvement to now but hey you know

That's the problem. It's all about hustle, now. No skills, no talent, no hard work, no respect for the art. Just hustle.

He's not as good a singer as Trey Songz :dunno:

He's a medicore singer who couldn't make a career off his singing. He can sing a hook like 50 or Ja Rule, but that's all he needs to do.
