Is Greg Oden Really Tha Real Deal???

What kind of pussy ass shit is this. Oden goes under the rim, doesn't bother to jump and just allows Jefferson dunk.

Foul him you big dummie.

Oden is garbage!! He only has big scoring nights when going up against teams with undersized centers. Otherwise, he's just a shot blocker and rebounder.

HE'S COMING ALONG, GIVE ODEN A FEW YEARS, HE'LL BE STRAIGHT. HE NEEDS AT LEAST THREE GO TO MOVES IN THE POST..BUT THEM TREE DUNKS I JUST SAW..ROSE..JEFFERSON..NOAH..

he's still got potential that is undeveloped.

he needs a little more discipline on D, and needs some cognitive development on O.

if/when he gets set in those areas, he'll be less of a liability for personal fouls and turnovers, which in turn would be a better argument for more minutes.

let him develop another season and revisit the thread in 2010.

I got a chance to watch Greg develop from age 15 here in Nap

Right now he reminds me of his Sophomore season when he had to play against other tall athletic players and move his feet.
Every year he got better in every way. He has a work ethic thats only getting stronger. This is technically his JR. year of college and he is showing glimpses of being great. He has to get use to the speed and athletic ability of others but when he gets that confidence he is going to beast every center in the league.

24 and 12 is going to be his average for years to come.

yeah i hope this young nigga stay injury free
i don't want this to turn out and be a sam bowie situation

How old is he???? 21 or 22.... He's still a puppy... He'll grow... and then... WATCH OUT... Is Portland was smart... They'd find an old school BIG MAN tutor him. Kind of like what Ewing did for Dwight...

I don't see Durant playing wit B. Roy :smh: Durant needs his shots, an so does Roy... so you would be stunting Durants growth having him defer to B. Roy :smh:

that's like when T Mac played wit Vince in Toronto, he was nice but he was not able to show his full game because he was clearly below vince... then when he got traded to Orl he showed out an everybody was wondering where did all that come from :hmm:

Oden is gonna be decent, he's not gonna be an MVP but he might be an off an on all star like a dikembe mourning type... barring injury

Nah, there will never be another Sam Bowie. If Portland gave up another Micheal Jordan caliber guy to get this dude, then I would say he will be a huge failure. But so far picking Greg Oden was the right decision for the Blazers because at the time there wasn't an obviously better pick. I cried when they picked Bowie over Jordan and I didn't even know he was going to get hurt at the time.

He good just need to adjust to the speed of the NBA
getting dunked on, on the NBA level when your a shot blocker
is inevitable.I bet he block 3-4 or more for everytime he get yam'ed on.
I can tell a lot of u cats on here were non-passing, offensive gunners whatever
level u played on:smh:

intrigued by your sig, I just watched the cheapest music video known to man. "It's so cold in the D" is "Thriller" by comparison.

(setting up soap box)

Now, much of the fam has watched way more basketball this year than me, especially of Greg Oden. I am not saying he is good or bad but I feel like when people, black or white, see a tall black man and he can't play a sport, no, does not excel in a sport then he is "garbage".

When you really look at this thing. Once you get past 6'2" and you have any combination of strength, speed, power, agility, or leaping ability, you are bordering on a freak of nature. When you really think about it, as one gets taller and taller, mobility just decreases.

Then we get blessed to watch Kemp's and Wilkin's and Coleman's and Stoudamire's and Garnett's just systematically handle the rock, shake people with speed and agility, have a decent shot and we feel it normal. Fam, it's not. You are watching gifted athletes, and a form of greatness whenever the TV is on. Surely, there are multiple more blacks their height and weight who just earn a "normal" living.

So in defense of Greg. This ninja is 7'0". He shouldn't be doing sh!t, really. Since there is basketball though, he can make a great living. And he is only 21. I mean, let the ninja develop.

This rant partially comes from when Kemp's son was posted. Just a junior in high school and there were already these outlandish comparisons to his pops or just his skill set in general.

The ninja's 15:confused: WTF? Let the ninja develop.:smh:

Oh, I forgot, our ticket out is ball. I digress.:hmm:

(puts soap box away)

It's fucked up in your third season to be termed 'Improving' and you are trying to reach the level of being an 'Average' Center.:smh:

I feel for the cat though, comparing him to Bill Russell and shit, he has the potential to be ok, but jokers expecting him to be a superstar are playin themselves. He will be more Dikembe than Kareem.

Portland just does some dumb shit...Fuck what you hard, put Durant and Roy on the same squad, unfuckingstoppable!!!!

:yes::yes:
