Is Charlotte Catching Up To Atlanta?

what is the reason for going to charlotte? is it a mix of honeys, warm weather, affordability, and housing market? or one more than the other. I think it's a spot for a laid back young cat starting a middle class career who can't afford the big city yet. Not for the flashy, pretenders, or those who want to make it big. Eventually what happens is that you move to a suburb and raise a family. Wholesome, but kinda boring.

They move to ATL cause of the hype, but in reality Charlotte is probably a better and safer place to raise a family than ATL.

Been here about 5 years now. I like it but Charlotte is nothing like Atlanta.

It all comes down to what you're looking for lifestyle wise. Coming from NY & now living in Raleigh, I wanted more of a slowed down laid back pace. Atlanta is definitely more of a party city than Charlotte and has more cultural diversity. Part of that can be attributed to the large amount of people who moved to Atlanta during it's big boom. Charlotte will need more time to catch up to that. I'm definitely noticing that happening in Raleigh right now with its growth and expect it to be similar in Charlotte. All I know is Charlotte better pray it doesn't get the traffic Atlanta does. I'm definitely hoping I don't see that in Raleigh. 8 frigging lanes of highway backed up in bumper to bumper traffic during non-rush hour time with no accidents or police activity occurring is beyond ridiculous.

Won't have to worry. QC is not meant to be Atlanta. It will continue to grow but it will never be another Atlanta.
