I never seen that shit and the commercial looks interesting. I'm going to get Halloween 2morrow and i wanted to know if that Bladerunner shit is worth the money.

To me it is. Its a sci-fi classic, set design story are mesmerizing. I suggest you rent or download before you spend your cash. Myself I 'm copping the 5 disc set !!! I'm a long time fan of the movie and been waiting on this for years.

It is a classic. It was made 20+ years ago though so your taste in cgi and special effects might prompt you to dislike it. Kinda like when I watched "The Birds" last night. Hadn't watched it 20 years. Pure trash. But I personally love BladeRunner.
Watch it, if for nothing else than seeing Rutger Hauer, Harrison Ford and Darryl Hannah early in their careers.

Is it good!!???

What!!??

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Mayne, if you have to ask, you won't even BEGIN to understand the meanings in Blade Runner.

The shit's fucking hot!

Damn. BladeRunner is that crack! I threw that shit in my Netflix que when I saw the commercial. Hadn't seen that in years. Harrison chasin down cyborgs and gettin his ass mollywhopped in the process.lol.

I have tried watching it 3 times but can never get into it past the first 5 minutes...it's supposed to be a classic movie though...

Thanks for reminding me

The story is dope. The flick was very much ahead of its time. You should check it. Even the ending is hot.

Cult Classic. There is an edited version w/ the Harrison Ford character narrating that should be avoided at all costs.

That's been the one I have "seen"...that is supposed to be the original theatrical relase version...

It was ahead of its time but not original compared to todays "Robots Are Taking Over" type movies. meaning, YOU know the Story Already.

iRobot, Matrix, IE, Etc.

Great movie, and what they were able to accomplish for the time was pretty impressive. If you dig Sci-Fi shit, you should love it, as it's a classic.

"The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long.."

True shit.... too damn true.

That moive is the shyt as stated above by others. I've even went so far as to buy the sound track. One time this girl I was dating at the time would cry off this one song on the track (can't remember the name) cause it had that type of affect....she said it was a sad ass song....we fucked to it later after her tears dried,:yes:

Movie and sound track is solid!

The voice over made it an entirely different movie....rumor has it that the studio execs forced Ridley Scott to release in theaters that way.

Ridley Scott filmed BR *without* the voice-overs, but due to its poor
reception at a sneak previews, the studio insisted that the voice-overs be
added. Ridley Scott said in an interview on American television that in film
noir, voice-overs sometimes work, and sometimes don't, and they didn't work
in BR.

"(A)n extensive voice-over was added to help people relate to Harrison Ford's
character and make following the plot easier. (A)fter a draft by novelist-
screenwriter Darryl Ponicsan was discarded, a TV veteran named Roland Kibbee
got the job. As finally written, the voice-over met with universal scorn
from the filmmakers, mostly for what Scott characterized as its 'Irving the
Explainer' quality.... It sounded so tinny and ersatz that, in a curious bit
of film folklore, many members of the team believe to this day that Harrison
Ford, consciously or not, did an uninspired reading of it in the hopes it
wouldn't be used. And when co-writers Fancher and Peoples, now friends, saw
it together, they were so afraid the other had written it that they refrained
from any negative comments until months later." [Source: Los Angeles Times
Magazine, September 13, 1992.]

The ending of the film was also changed by the studio. Scott wanted to end
the film with Deckard and Rachael getting into the elevator, but the studio
decided that the film needed a happier, less ambiguous ending. The aerial
shots used in the 1982 theatrical release were outtakes from Stanley Kubrik's
"The Shining" (which, coincidentally, featured Joe Turkel).

In September 1992, Warner Bros. released "The Director's Cut" of Blade Runner
(BRDC), which eliminated the voice-overs and the happy ending.

one of the best lines, along with edward james olmos's gaff..
"It's too bad she wont live!! But then again, who does?" i had based my Shadowrun character off him

to be honest i didnt really mind the narration in the film..as well as the ending they originally went with

Cult Classic, ahead of it's time yet is still timeless. Harrison Ford is great. Darryl Hannah is great. Even Edward James Olmos(spelling) did his thing. The plot keeps you interested all the way up until the end. If they tried to remake today with a bunch of CGI and shit they'd probably fuck it up. Go rent the joint so you can at least say you've watched it.

See. This is exactly why I love BGOL. There are black men who see things like I see them and don't - a priory - see them as pro-white. Blade Runner is probably the greatest sci fi of all time. If you want to see blood and guts, watch something else. If you want to see sci fi creatures that stuff, check something else.

If you want your mind exercised, watch the director's cut.

Aight...I just read some dude big up the director's cut and that was the version fanboys kept steering me away from...I will try to watch it a fourth time...

You should watch it just to analyze it. It asks the question: What is a human? If you pay attention to dialogue and don't have to have action every five minutes, you might like it.

At the end you should be asking "Was Deckard a replicant too?"

It's one of the few movies that I can say is better than the book. I read the book and it didn't develop the villains to the same degree as the movie. In the book Roy is not sympathetic at all. In the movie, you feel bad for Roy at the end.

Watch this movie if you can. A great director with a great actor and a great story makes for a great movie. Then read the book. I'd be real surprised if you found the book better than the movie.

Blade Runner is one of my favorites the movie is still amazing even 24+ years later. Now if only I could get my hands on the Blu-Ray rip ;)
