About to check out the last 3 eps but I'll say I think that they should've left her origin story alone. The additions to make the story more gritty and urban definitely paints her in a different light than RiRi is portrayed in the comics. I think the original story probably would've resonated more since it's more tech/sci-fi driven and it painted her as a clear successor to iron man as she was under his mentorship for the most part. There wasn't this gritty street level/crime drama, it was more her using her genius and dealing with tech/suit level villains.

I used to watch nerdrotic because he was the only person doing week to week reviews of one of my favorite shows Counterpart on Starz. I tried to give him a chance but he started that racist crap and I stopped watching him. When I do watch reviews it's from reviewers who have similar taste and aren't politically motivated, but ultimately people need to just watch shit on their own and make up their minds, if you in need someone to tell you what to watch and if it's good then that person is a moron who probably enjoys nothing but fast and furious movies lol
I watch John Campea and I hear what he has to say but I will go watch it anyway. Like he talked about how mid brave new world was and I completely disagree. Same thing with Thunderbolts. He talked about this great movie and how he was looking forward to it and I thought it was "good". Best thing i took out of that movie was the mental health angle.

The Penguin is often over looked?!?!?! So he's overlooked, but he was in two of the three iterations of the Batman movie franchise...but he's overlooked. So THAT'S how I know you don't know what you're talking about. Again compelling is about who it was written for. Making a R rated tv show is going to be compelling for adults while a PG-13 show is going to be compelling for tweens and teens. Did your kids like season 3? Brought up the Barbie movie to give an example to how people complain about a movie that wasn't made for them. The show wasn't made for you in mind. You're not the core audience. Sure watch it so you know how this bleeds into the movies, but this isn't for you. You brought up Stranger Things. The NOSTALGIA of Stranger Things is for you, the feelings and struggles that kids go through isn't. So when families are watching together, you know Dad Shyt. There is something for everyone.

Glad I pushed through the pilot. Really wanted to enjoy the show and for me - it was on; clicked before end of pilot ep and never had an issue with it thereafter. I HOPE this level of care and connection is brought to ALL MCU projects from here but if that’s too much then at least the ones Coogler and Proximity are exec producing.
1. when it comes to great stories from Batman, Penguin always side villain of some way. He tends to have the info on the big bad threat. I like Penguin as a character, but he has never been the big threat to Batman outright like the Joker, Mr. Freeze, Ras, Clayface, or Bane.
2. My daughters were young af for Season 3 of Stranger Things. My niece was so-so on it. She was in that age group it was marketed to.

4. The "wasn't made for them" argument is tired af. A good story can transcend the initial audience it was made for. Think about Game of Thrones, for example, anyone can relate to that story of ASOIAF. It's about connecting to basic human nature. Something Ironheart misses the mark on.
5. It's cool if you like it. Just don't get mad when others dislike a show for legit reasons. Ironheart is a bad hero origin show, and a mediocre villain origin story. It misses all the marks for the audience to find Ironheart as even a sympathetic character period.

Finished the final 3 and overall I'd say it was an average watch, like 7/10. It has entertainment, action scenes are pretty good (nothing looks low budget), again for me some of Dom's expressions tune me out of certain scenes, and there were times where things felt a little corny (i.e. "it hurtssss" moment). I still believe if they kept it close to the comic's storyline it would have hit better, she was not involved with magic related situations early on and her suit was strictly tech based so that addition in the last 2 episodes was a little "meh".. But the intro of Sacha's character is interesting if they actually do something with it, which I'm not sure will happen in the immediate sense because Dr Doom is the focus for the major films it seems. But again, 7/10 for me. A good watch.
Yeah, I thought the comic had a better origin story, but her initial comic did have her battling magical villains. Her father who was supposed to be dead was actually alive leading the group the Ten Rings with the name Dune.
It's one of those throw away storylines that is new to younger readers. But there was magic in her initial comic run.

We watched Harlem Nights around the same time. We also watched Def Comedy Jam way too early, but still laughed. Good art can transcends the initial audience it was created for.
5. I made the Penguin comparison based off the amount of money each show spent to create it. Now since you stuck at that stupid ass argument you want to harp on, lets play the game. Both Ironheart, and The Penguin both had movie roles that made around the same amount of money. The only difference between the two is that HBO knows how to make TV shows. They have the TV show broken down to a formula, and WB barely interferes with the process. Disney is why Ironheart is getting panned at the end of the day.
