How do you describe intimacy? What does it mean to you?
To me, a very private yearning to progressively learn more about that person. Physically, mentally, sexually. Spiritually. Did I forget any 'lly?
A gift and an important opportunity to truly bond with a person of your choosing.
I say progressively because people do not always change, but they do grow, and even though you are in a relationship, a person will grow on their own and you need to be willing to let them, and learn them as they grow, not just be intimate with whom you originally met.

To me, intimacy is sharing things with someone that you're afraid to share...it's showing your most vulnerable, stripped side...this can be sexually or even in the midst of a conversation...

I don't mind it, seriously...he just likes us being close...sometimes, I feel the same about just being close and wanting to hear his breathing and know he is at peace. The talking can be cut out, if I can just tell, from his face, he is enjoying a quiet moment with me. THIS is intimacy, to me.

Hmmm, good question. Its not easy to put into words what intimacy means. Often, its before or after sex..sometimes during. It's lounging on the sofa with your SO..watching a game, talkin stuff..falling asleep, then waking up to find your game has been switched to Lifetime 
..its talking on the phone with someone special, holding hands, vibing..Most acts are conscious...you DECIDE to have sex. You decide to eat dinner. Under the right conditions and with the right person, intimacy happens...

Yes,its pure, and can't be forced or faked. So many good examples above. It really can take on a million different forms. Often its seeming small things, brushing a cheek with a finger, rubbing a back when there a cough, its falling asleep entwined and waking up in the same exact position. Its eating off the same plate. Its wearing his t- shirt, or rubbing lotion in. Hell sometimes its even washing his dirty clothes.
That is very, very sweet.
I think intimacy is the most overlooked aspect in a relationship. A relationship lacking in intimacy is not a relationship. At best its an agreement for 2 people to get together and fuck or maybe even do a movie or something. If the intimacy is there it puts everything else into place. The sex is incredible. The relationships tend to last much longer because intimacy strengthens the bond between man and woman. Oh yeah and the sex last longer but at a much higher level of intensity. I do like that part.

Intimacy to me is-touching you for no reason, leaning against you and looking into your eyes while we are waiting in line for food and for a moment everyone else is gone, bathing you in the shower and licking the soap off (and not even notcing how nasty the soap is) staring at you from across the room biting my lower lip like dang that's mine, listening to you breath on the phone, rubbing your back or feet because they look like they need my touch...
I can go on and on..

I've been home on vacation for the last week and will be for the rest of this week. My wife just started a new job during the same time so I've been making her lunch and basically being her at home with the kids(laundry, meals, etc.) (they start daycare of the 5th
