For it. I just left a my grandmother's birthday party she turned 89 years old and alot of family were there all the shades of brown and mixed family members. We don't care what race you date as long as they treat you right. My grandparents of course have seen enough segregation in their lifetime to not raise the family to continue that ingorance

There are a lot of opinions I share and some I don't share in here.

1. Race is NOT sufficient to create "black unity". Black unity is a myth. You cannot expect people to stick together because of a skin pigmentation. The reason whites do it is because their group is define by a LACK of melanin which results from a recessive gene.
That means that unless measures are put into place, their group as currently defined will disappear.

2. Cultures are also very diverse with elements that are similar and elements that are different.
However people of different cultures form strong bonds all the time.

3. There is still a lot of raw emotions between the oppressor and the oppressed, in this case whites and blacks.
Whites were oppressed by whites e.g. europeans who landed on Ellis Island and had to work oppressive hours to build railroads and this country's infrastructure.
However ways exist for them to successfully integrate into and become a part of this society.
Africans and their descendants are still struggling to integrate in a way that is respectful to their original way of life, pays homage to those they came from and allowed to get fair treatment for even basic needs.

That creates a level of dis-trust and hate that is justified to an extent.

However instead of moving towards solidifying around these issues, we continue to create group dynamics that forces us to stay within ourselves.

I am one of the most militant persons I know and I adhere to TRUTH where ever that may lead me.

If someone helps me fulfill my life's purpose, that is the person I would confide in, share myself with.

I love people who:
- Love the truth no matter how harsh that truth may be
- Are willing to sacrifice for the greater good
- Grow because they relentlessly seek the truth
- Doers who practice what they preach
- Believe that all things are possible with enough self-sacrifice

If those things come in colors then let me know.

Life is short and I am not in a position to judge someone else based on their skin color just as I expect someone not to judge me based on my skin color.

The very same ones talking unity in this thread haven't laid out any solid basis for coming together.

For me to deny another's humanity means that I myself don't understand my own humanity.

We make progress through life from baby stages to full adulthood.

As a baby we see a reflection of what we think is ourself. Our parents and environment shape what we think about our self i.e. our self-image.

With time these "images" fall off and the quicker we accept our reality the more pain we shed about our true nature.

One is not a queen because of skin color.

Where is your kingdom?

For me as a personal preference? I'm against it. Part of the reason involves how the their family, friends and/or close associates will not accept you because skin color.

The other reason is involve potential volience that could happen to you if you are in the wrong place at the wrong hanging with their friends and god-forbid if you hurt one of them in self defense... the court have your ass locked up for a long time, which could destory your life and career.

A third reason could be that is that if you are black man and let's say that you married a white woman and let's say that she decided to get a divorce, which could be for no real reason the courts could take as much as 70% of everything that you own, especially if you being judge by a cracka judge, who hates black people.

In other words black people got more to lose in interracial relationships. White people on the other hand have a better chance to rebound from the situation because of their acceptance in society.

I actually somewhat agree with lonestar, but the mix child don't always end up with a white person, that's not true. And if you look back in history (A fuck up one) you will find that the majority of white americans and black americans today are mix with percentage of both, but most are very low and only identify themselves with physical appearance.
