I wanted to ask the sistas here if they've considered any cosmetic procesures, invasive or non-invasive.

Do you feel that women who want to have or have these procedures are exhibiting self-hatred?

Vaguely thinking about it, I'm sure everyone has. Personally, I think about it, but in reality I think it'd be too expensive but I can't be serious about wanting cosmetic surgery until I get my life together. I work out, but not at the rate I should. I eat healthy, but not as healthy as I should. Unless I could be assured that I could do what I needed to do to maintain what my money bought I wouldn't do it...

Well I plan on getting some chemical peels in areas where I suffere extreme hyperpigmentation and some lipo after I lose the last set of pounds I'm trying to get rid of.

I'd never do anything to my face. And my lips and breasts are gorgeous as they are.

I've seen some females who were physically unattractive but their confidence and personality made them beautiful...

Unnecessary surgery (in this case, plastic surgery) is far too dangerous just for vanity. I am so scared of having kids and not having a nice body anymore; but, I refuse to go under the knife and anesthesia just to fix something physical that doesn't really need to be fixed. God forbid I get into an accident and have something that NEEDS to be fixed then makes plastic surgery necessary. Other than that, I agree that you should just be happy with what you have.

But I do think that there is a large number of women who have self esteem an other mental type of issues who regardless of how many surgeries they have will never love themselves or the way they look. But I am not blessed with everything. And there are corrective measures and if they exist and don't pose a threat to my welfare, I damn sure are going to exercise those measures. Men can be harshly critical, expecting normal everyday women to look like these porn and model chicks, when everyday chicks have flaws just like them too.

So alot of women turn to cosmetic surgery...

and to answer your question femme, I have thought about cosmetic surgery a few times. I thought about having a breast reduction, just for my physical health reasons.
Now I consider a breast reduction and a breast lift, because I have two babies....
This Donda West situation has me re considering though.

I have always wantd breast reduction surgery. But then I saw how they actually do it, and I don't think so! As long as a woman is not disfiguring herself (like that cat lady), I have no problem with it.

Femme I'm not a strong believer in cosmetic surgery.
IMO most of what we find objectionable about our bodies can likely be taken care of with better food and exercise. Ofcourse there are exceptions like after a big weigh loss skin may need to be removed and certainly breast reconstruction in cases of cancer but other than that elective cutting into ones body is a serious thing. I wouldn't do it unless I had to like any surgery. I definitely wouldn't want to alter my face in any way. I don't feel like aging is a bad thing. It's a blessing and contrary to our crap food society's expectations you can age beautifully if you take care of yourself.

BUT a little microdermabrasion and the occasional non invasive chemical peel is a lovely thing.
