Fujii is considered one of the best female MMA fighters in the world. She specializes mainly in submission fighting, and is renowned for her quick takedowns and submissions. Her most popular move is the Inazuma Toe Hold submission, dubbed the Megulock. Megumi also holds a black belt in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, and was trained in MMA by Shooto veteran Hiroyuki Abe and Pro Wrestler, PRIDE Fighting Championships alumni, former UFC Heavyweight Champion, and King of Pancrase, Josh Barnett. She has also trained other female MMA fighters like current top fighter Hitomi Akano.

Fujii is also a highly decorated fighter outside of Mixed Martial Arts. Some of her accomplishments are: Japanese National Sambo and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu champion, Five 2nd place finishes in the World Sambo Championships, Ground Impact professional BJJ tournament champion, 2004 and 2006 BJJ Pan-am champion, and in 2005 and 2007 she earned 3rd place finishes in the ADCC -60kg World Submission Championships.

Megumi Fujii was also a multiple time contestant on the seasonal Japanese obstacle course Television show Sasuke (Ninja Warrior). Though she did well, she has never made it past the first stage.

Yeah - it's crazy thinking back to earlier in the decade ... guys like Henderson, Rampage, Cro Cop, Wanderlei Silva, and Kazushi Sakuraba were straight doin' the damn thang in PRIDE ... and one would have thought Cro Cop would have translated well over to the American style of fighting ... but things just haven't worked out that. The lasting image I have of him is from a few years back when Gabe Gonzaga headkicked him and he crumbled like a ton of bricks and his leg/knee/foot did a 180 underneath him in weird collapse. That shit was BANANAS.

According to SI’s Josh Gross the possible cancellation of the 2010 DREAM Light Heavyweight GP has happened.

The Dream light heavyweight grand prix set for May 29 has been cancelled. Fighter reps were told Wednesday. Still working on the reason.

Looks like the reason for the cancellation is an issue between Dream and its TV partner, TBS.

Japanese MMA is in a bad spot right now. It feels like the people involved with DREAM (FEG, RE, TBS) aren’t getting along very well either. It’ll be an interesting year

Paul Daley vs Josh Koschek is coming up soon. Both guys have came a long way especially Paul Daley who has been fighting MMA longer than Kos. Kos has the wrestling advantage here so it shouldn't be a suprise to see Kos changing levels and trying to drive through Paul "Semtex" Daley and put him on his back where we've seen in the past is not where he would like to be. Koschek has improved a lot since his early fights especially in the standup department where it seems like he now doesn't mind exchanging on his feet which could cost him in this fight like it did against Paulo Thiago. He was actually getting the better of the exchanges until he was caught with that combination that floored him. A lot of shit talking going back and forth for this fight and I'm looking forward to this fight. Semtex has dynamite in his hands and I feel this will be a huge advantage as long as he can stuff Kos's takedowns. And if any of you guys have ever been on the mat or have some kind of grappling experience getting your takedown stuffed a few times will take a lot out of you.

UFC Star's Cold Shoulder Stops Fight

Forrest Griffin -- one of the most popular fighters in the UFC -- is backing out of his fight later this month because of a bum shoulder ... TMZ has learned.

Sources tell us the former UFC light heavyweight champ's shoulder injury is serious enough that he won't be able to fight Lil' Nog on May 29 in Las Vegas.

The extent of Griffin's injury is unclear.
