In case you missed it

Props for all of the links. Silva could have finished but didn't, don't know why he said Maia disrespected him so he wanted to punish him. Anybody know where to download the prelims. I heard the prelims were better than the fights on the card. I was looking forward to watching the Demarques vs Brad Blackburn fight. Heard is was a war. Props, best thread on bgol.

What pisses me off the most (and I'm a fan of Anderson's) =

- Like people said ... IF you're that good - fucking prove it. Go out there and DESTROY your opponent. Just take him out of the fucking equation immediately and make a QUICK HIGHLIGHT REEL of him. Why bullshit around for 25 minutes?

- You make a fool of yourself

- You embarass YOURSELF / YOUR OPPONENT / THE UFC / MMA IN GENERAL

- Fuckin' look around the past 48 hours or less ... pretty much all the reports/stories/articles/press has been NEGATIVE for the damn event (and all the haters/naysayers/critics see when they log onto YAHOO/GOOGLE/MSN/SPORTSLINE/CBS/WHATEVER THE FUCK SITE OR BLOG), and that fucking takes away from the fighters who put their all in there, and takes away from Edgar's championship win (which people will only remember for the co-main event's bullshitness).

- All in all it just gives the fucking sport (which has been gaining alot of respect the past 5 years) a FUCKING BLACK EYE ... fuck this MAIA/LEITES/COTE bullshit. Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White has announced via Twitter that pre-sale tickets for UFC 115 at Vancouver's GM Place have sold out in just 30 minutes.

Premium members of the UFC Fight Club were given first crack at tickets Tuesday morning and gobbled them up quickly, with mixed martial arts fans from the U.S. and across Canada tweeting their excitement at getting access to the event scheduled for June 12 at GM Place.

Tickets were scheduled to go on sale to the general public Thursday. It is unclear at this time as to whether any tickets have been set aside for the public, or whether the entire ticket allocation has been sold out, but scalpers are already asking $400 for $75 tickets on Craigslist.

The event will be the first Canadian UFC pay-per-view fight card outside of Montreal, which has held two events previously and is due to stage another on May 8 when Brazilian karate specialist Lyoto Machida and kickboxer Mauricia Rua fight for the light heavyweight title.

Former champions Chuck (The Iceman) Liddell and Rich (Ace) Franklin are scheduled to headline the Vancouver fight card after Tito Ortiz was removed from the main event for undisclosed reasons.

The Vancouver sell-out would be the fastest in UFC history, assuming all tickets are indeed sold. The fastest-selling event previously was Montreal's UFC 83 at the Bell Centre, which sold out just one minute into tickets being made available to the public.

Other fights on the card include:

Heavyweight bout: Mirko Filipović vs. Pat Barry

Welterweight bout: Martin Kampmann vs. Paulo Thiago

Welterweight bout: Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald

Lightweight bout: Tyson Griffin vs. Evan Dunham

Lightweight bout: Mac Danzig vs. Matt Wiman

Heavyweight bout: Ben Rothwell vs. Gilbert Yvel

Welterweight bout: James Wilks vs. Peter Sobotta

Welterweight bout: Ricardo Funch vs. Claude Patrick

Welterweight bout: Mike Pyle vs. Jesse Lennox

Thanks Helicopter FUnk.......that Demarques/Blackburn fight was sick. I wish it would have made the main card. Business is business i guess they have to put Hughes vs Renzo on the main card even though that fight wasn't too exciting. I wish that fight would have hit the ground, these guys aren't that good standing up and not one of them even tried for a takedown.

Dominican - you're welcome. Yes - that was a great prelim fight. Yeah - Hughes/Gracie was boring. Gracie hadn't fought in years, and NEVER checked a damn leg kick. Hughes was smart to just chop away at him and then finally finish him off at the end. Snoozefest.

Mallorquin - thanks for upping episode 3 from TUF 11. I'll add some additional links in the thread (here and TUF 11 one too).

Lenny - make sure you watch the ROGER HUERTA fight from the BELLATOR linkage. Great fight/finish. Always exciting to see Huerta in battle ... he's never boring.

So Huerta is no longer in the UFC? I thought they were going to make him one of their golden boys.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Huerta

Yeah - he was there golden boy for a moment, but him and Dana White had some beef ... and also he wanted to pursue some acting shit on the side as well. There was talks of him joining STRIKEFORCE, but he eventually settled with BELLATOR and just fought his first fight with them in their 2nd season tournament earlier this month.

WIKIPEDIA - "Ultimate Fighting Championship

Roger Huerta was originally slated to make his UFC debut against Hermes Franca at UFC 61, but was forced to withdraw from the fight as the result of an elbow injury.[10] He won his first six fights in the UFC, the first at UFC 63 against Jason Dent, which was declared "Fight of the Night".[11]

His next fight was against UFC newcomer John Halverson at UFC 67. The fight ended by TKO after 19 seconds of round one after Huerta landed a knee to the shoulder/head area of a grounded Halverson, knocking him down where Huerta finished him with punches. The end of the bout was controversial as knees to the head of grounded opponents are illegal under UFC rules. It was later shown in a replay that Huerta's knee was actually to the shoulder rather than to the head.[12]

Next he fought in a three round war with Leonard Garcia at UFC 69. winning via unanimous decision. After the fight, in May 2007, Huerta became the first mixed martial artist[13] to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine to showcase its first story on the rising popularity of mixed martial arts.[14]

Huerta won his next two fights against Doug Evans and Alberto Crane before he faced and submitted Clay Guida by rear naked choke in the third round on December 8, 2007 at The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale. Huerta was visibly frustrated at losing in the grappling exchanges from Guida's wrestling offensive, spending a large part of the bout on his back fending off ground and pound from his opponent. Late in the second round he was stunned by a punch to the face while trying to get to his feet, but managed to survive until the end of the round. Early in the third round, Huerta looked to engage Guida on his feet. Huerta stunned Guida with a knee to the face while attempting a kick when Guida looked to shoot and after a brief flurry, took his back and proceeded to submit him very late in the fight for an impressive come-from-behind win.

Huerta then lost his next fight by unanimous decision (all judges scored the bout 30–27) at UFC 87 against Kenny Florian.

On January 9, 2009, Huerta announced an indefinite hiatus from MMA to further pursue opportunities in acting.[15]

In order to complete his UFC contract,[13] Huerta returned on September 16, 2009 but lost to Gray Maynard at UFC Fight Night 19.[16]. After a back and forth fight, he would end up losing a split decision in his bout against Maynard, with the bout scored 28–29, 30–27, 30–27.
[edit] Bellator career

On Roger's personal Twitter account, he announced he was in talks with Strikeforce[17]

Instead of Strikeforce, Roger signed with up and coming promotion, Bellator Fighting Championships. He is one of eight men to compete in the second season lightweight tournament with the winner receiving a title shot against Eddie Alvarez.[18]

His first fight in the tournament took place at Bellator 13, with Huerta defeating his opponent Chad Hinton via submission (kneebar) at 0:56 of the third round."

Shit yeah that fight was awesome, Huerta beat the breaks off dude.:eek::eek: That somersault Huerta did to shake Hinton was the highlight, once again excellent fight.

Yeah - I saw the highlight on THE MMA SHOW on Friday afternoon and as soon as I saw the somersault - I knew that Roger still had it.

Ey bro - did you ever see the HUERTA/LEONARD GARCIA fight years back? That's one of my fave fights of all-time. Great amount of respect shown and Garcia (now with Greg Jackson's camp and fighting in the WEC) puts on a great showing in his first UFC bout. Let me know and I'll link you. Shit is tight. It's from about 3 years ago or so!

War Machine -- the controversial MMA fighter turned porn star -- is in big trouble in Georgia, after he backed out of an upcoming brawl ... through his Twitter page.

Machine (yes, that's his legal name) was scheduled to get in the ring at Wild Bill's Fight Night in Duluth, GA tomorrow night ... but claims he came down with a staph infection that will prevent him from kicking ass.

The fight promoter tells TMZ that instead of dealing with his situation "professionally" -- returning calls, emails, etc -- Machine simply posted a message on his Twitter page stating that he was out of the fight.

Now, the Georgia State Athletic and Entertainment Commission is coming down on Machine -- suspending the fighter indefinitely for breach of contract.

So far, calls to WM have not been returned.
