Friendly reminder for all our BGOL MMA massive ... tomorrow's card is from overseas, and per the timezone differences globally ... make sure you check your local listings for the DAYTIME broadcast. Here in Canada we get it on 1 or more of our Sportsnet affiliates as we don't have Fuel TV, but it varies for other parts of the world as well. Also, keep in mind there are a number of fights on the UFC's Facebook page too (PRELIMS) ... so check those out if you're online & interested in a few hours of bouts before the tv portion kicks in. Also, take a look at your listings too in case there are some rebroadcasts later in the day if you missed the initial airing. Sports networks are always a mindfuck. Hell - we've got something like 5 or 6 different versions of Sportsnet for the various provinces ... 2 or so for TSN, 1 for The Score, etc.

* The co-mains should be fun ... Barao-McDonald at 135lbs, and Swanson-Poirier at 145lbs. These cats are exciting.

Have fun with NBA All-Star Weekend too, everyone.

OFFICIAL UFC 158 thread - GSP / DIAZ / CONDIT / HENDRICKS / ELLENBERGER / MARQUARDT =

http://www.bgol.us/board/showthread.php?t=723345

"The anger inside of Diaz started to erupt even more when a reporter followed up by asking St-Pierre for a reaction that he was somehow "pampered" in his everyday life. Before St-Pierre could even say a word, Diaz exploded with his own commentary about his opponent's lifestyle choices.

"I hope so motherf—ker if I had that much money I'd be f—king pampering myself the f—k up. I'd be having motherf—kers pampering my s—t left and f—king right. There would be motherf—kers every hour on the hour showing up to pamper me out," Diaz shouted."

Weigh ins. Dana broke Nick/GSP up quick... Save the fight for the cage.

Agree with most of your picks, though GSP has been mostly underwhelming as of late even though his record is hard to deny: Shields, Koscheck, Condit--just to name a few. But he has to win in dominant fashion and I simply see him taking down Diaz and not much else. Before his KO loss he was a beast. Even after he gained revenge against Serra, he seems docile. Maybe he's preserving his body for a longer MMA career?

Still, it's hard to root against Diaz, bad attitude and all:

BTw, HUnt may be a bad fight for JDS as this is a fight that will be on the feet.

UFC on Fox card this weekend should be fun.

April 20th, 2013

MELENDEZ / HENDERSON
CORMIER / MIR
THOMSON / DIAZ
MEIN / BROWN

Keep an eye out on some of the other fights too ... Benavidez, Dillashaw, and others reppin' on the undercard, etc.

These should be real good.

 - enjoy the fights, bro √ - props to Fox and the UFC on delivering with these UFC cards (especially this one and that in Dec. 2012 too). I'm more amped for the tv card than the PPV next weekend (Jones/Sonnen).

http://www.bgol.us/board/showthread.php?t=729882

Enjoy the fights today, everyone. The UFC has done a very good job lining up these tv cards on FOX (especially the past 2 - 3 events, this one included). Plenty of good names ... cats that bring exciting fights ... and title fights mixed in as well (Henderson/Diaz last time ... Henderson/Melendez this time). Henderson's done a good job making his name on Fox as well as he was the co-main vs. Clay Guida back in Nov. 2011 on the 1st Velasquez/JDS card. But yo ... that said ...

1pm PST / 4pm EST - i.e. - in a few minutes = 2 prelims on FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/UFC/app_247211121995467

2pm PST / 5pm EST - 3 hours of televised prelims on Fuel/FX or whatever in the States, and Sportsnet in Canada ... good names on there including Masvidal, Dillashaw, Benavidez, and more.

5pm PST / 8pm EST = 2 - 2.5 hours of main card action on big FOX.

HENDERSON / MELENDEZ
CORMIER / MIR
DIAZ / THOMSON
BROWN / MEIN

Enjoy the first prelims starting in a few mins for the FB crowd ... televised prelims start in 1 hour, BGOL fam'.

Forrest Griffin, Stephan Bonnar will be next UFC Hall of Fame members

by Matt Erickson and John Morgan on May 26, 2013 at 5:00 am ET
stephan-bonnar-18.jpgLAS VEGAS – The next members of the UFC's Hall of Fame put themselves on a path to enshrinement more than eight years ago.

Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar, who took part in what is widely regarded as the most important fight in UFC history, as well as one of the best fights in MMA history, will go into the UFC's Hall of Fame this summer.

UFC President Dana White on Saturday told small group of reporters following the post-event news conference for UFC 160 of the plan to enshrine Griffin and Bonnar at the UFC's Fan Expo, which takes place ahead of UFC 162 in July.

Griffin and Bonnar were the light-heavyweight finalists on Season 1 of "The Ultimate Fighter." During the live finale, the two engaged in one of the most memorable slugfests in MMA history, with Griffin coming out ahead with a 29-28 unanimous-decision win.

The two forever will be linked to that fight, which, as legend has it, had friends calling other friends telling them to turn the fight on – causing ratings to have a big spike during the fight.

Griffin (19-7 MMA, 10-5 UFC) would go on to win the UFC's light heavyweight title, though he lost it in his first defense.

Bonnar (17-1 MMA, 8-7 UFC) had an up-and-down UFC career, culminating in a fight with Anderson Silva this past October – after which he tested positive for steroids. The loss to Silva snapped a three-fight win streak for the then-resurgent fighter who had lost three in a row.

UFC 162 takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, though the UFC Fan Expo takes place at the nearby Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The UFC Hall of Fame's most recent inductee was Tito Ortiz, who went in during the past year's fan expo. Along with Ortiz, the UFC's hall counts Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell, Mark Coleman, Randy Couture, Dan Severn, Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie as members.

For the latest on UFC 162, stay tuned to the UFC Rumors section of the site.

I see Rampage is now with Bellator....does that count as being 'out to pasture'?

http://www.bellator.com/FighterBio.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=23600&FIGHTER_ID=1296837

Definitely an interesting acquisition by Bellator.

Did you hear about Ausserio Silva? Looks like he survived 5 gunshots earlier this year. I remmeber his fights with then UFC champ Tim Sylvia and a young Brandoin Vera.

Thanks for the article, man. I do remember him a handful a years back. Gonna read it now.
