In case you missed it

True - the tournament format is exciting. They've had some duds here and there, but on the whole it's been a strong formula for them as people need to earn their way to the bigger fights. I was listening to Bjorn Rebney in an interview this past week and I believe Ranallo asked him what's next for EDDIE ALVAREZ, and Rebney noted we'll likely see him in the season 6 tournament ... looking to win his way back to a title shot with MICHAEL CHANDLER in their great battle from November of this year.

That fight was definitely one of the best of the year, and it'll be on the nominations come the WORLD MMA AWARDS next year, just like EDGAR - MAYNARD III from October 2011 (after their great 2nd fight back on January 1st, 2011). I believe the nominations run from September - September annually.

Good roster there at Bellator with Dantas, Vila, Warren, Alvarez, Chandler, The Pitbull brothers, Sparks, and more.

definitly one of the best fights in 2011

The Fight of Their Lives
(Documentary about Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UB1QPP3K

Great (new) Documentary (Year 2011) about the 1995 world title fight boxing match between Nigel Benn and Gerald McClellan, which ended in such tragic circumstances that it has never been broadcast since. British Boxing Legend Nigel Benn faced rising American star Gerald McClellan, one of the hardest punchers in boxing history, in a match which changed their lives forever. The brutal and controversial fight left McClellan seriously injured and Benn mentally scarred. The program features fresh allegations and further twists as well as the emotional reunion of the two fighters after years of bitterness.
This is an excellent Documentary and a "Must See" for every boxing fan.
Big thanks to the British Capper who recorded and provided the original file.

Excellent picture quality.

Thanks for the Documentary Johniz. I remember this and can't wait to see some background about what really happened.

Thanks, Johniz.

Sidenote - Is GSP / Diaz ever gonna happen?

IDK....I don't want to doubt the injury but it just seems funny that he gets hurt so close to the fight they expect him gone for 10 months :smh:

maybe Dana don't want to put his UFC pride & joy against a buzzsaw...

Diaz Vs Condit is a better fight tho that fight won't go the distance....

True - Condit / Diaz should be fireworks. I hope we get 5 + minutes from them. I am not a fan of quick bouts. So much build-up ... I need at least 5 + mins in all my scraps

P - Do you have your picks locked in?

Jones
Mir
Lil Nog

I'm rooting for Big Nog tho...but he seems very slow when he is boxing now...Mir will probably finish him standing...

the Machida Vs Jones fight I'm very interested in...Jones never fought anyone with Lyoto's style...if he destroys him...Jones IMO will be pretty much unbeatable at LHW...

P' - Good picks.

I am 2 for 3 on my picks so far.

Yeah - if Jones beats Machida HANDEDLY he will pretty much cement his place as atop the perch at 205. That'll make him 4-0 in 2011 with 3 wins over FORMER CHAMPS. He already earned Fighter of the Year acclaim at the World MMA Awards last week.

True - Big Nog is healthier now, but his body has been through alot over the years. He's "older" than his mid-30s. Mir is tough and his only major obstacles in recent years = Lesnar and Carwin.

Machida is a great stylistic match-up for Jones though. Do we get a quick finish from Jones, or does this thing go 5, 10, 15, or more? It sure as hell isn't going the full 25. Let's see how they deal with one another later tonight, for sure.

dude had probably the best year of any MMA fighter other than Jones

Appreciate this a lot fam, Ant represented for FlintTown once again on this...wish it would have went the distance so he could've showcased more of his skills, he work hella hard in the Gym. Dre too and his comeback fight on the 30th

Just a little pre-fight hype for the co-main event for UFC 141 in Nate Diaz vs. Donald Cerrone.:D

Nate Diaz don't play that.:eek::eek::eek:

Enjoy the special Friday night pre-NYE card, everyone. It's been years since they've held a Friday PPV ... so make sure ya'll check this one out, and have a good time the next night bringing in NYE all over the place the world over.

Lesnar / Overeem
Cerrone / Diaz
Fitch / Hendricks

Should be a fun card ... I'm thinking OVEREEM / CERRONE in the 2 co-mains. What say you?

ufc-141-poster.jpg

overeem was a beast in strickforce but i'm just not sure how will do against the best of the best in the ufc.

overeem wins easily.
Overeem been doing this shit for years.
And
he is just as big and strong as lesnar.

overeem! He just doesn't have size he also has skill. I can't wait for this fight! 1st round, ground and pound.

lesnar unless overeem makes him gas.

^^word up, if brock gets past overeem, jdls is gonna beat the block head off his neck.

whoever shows up 100%. I will wait until i see the weigh-ins before i decide.

<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/12343163?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0" width="400" height="265" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/12343163">the next big thing brock lesnar</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user3986390">fight music</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">vimeo</a>.</p>

there really is no way to tell on this one. I'm honestly not up on overeems wrestling..and you have to be a wrestler to have the tdd to stop brock from fucking over you...but brock is a fighter that has a real problem taking shots to the face...speaking of brock..at this point its just a money thing because there is no way in hell he will ever get that belt again.

i don't know much about overeem. But after watching those vids posted brock is about to get his ass whooped. He just can't match the speed or agility of overeem.

fight is this friday.

Even at 100%, lesnar does not have the chin to beat alistair, imo.

Here is my article to the fight:
http://www.boxingmeetsmma.com/

here is alistair's on-going series (one of the betters ones ever):
<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/34144010?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0&amp;color=ffffff" width="400" height="225" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/34144010">the reem season 2 episode 8: Rollercoaster</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/thereem">the reem</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">vimeo</a>.</p>

i like reem...fight won't go the distance..

overeem...and this shit will be one sided.

overeem wins with a knee to the head
#bankit

brock rushes in for the td, he doesn't get it, 1.3 seconds later, the reem is still palming the back of brocks head and because it's mma, it will be with both hands and those knees will start comming up, taking years away from brocks life.

This is gonna be a serious ass-whoopin.

y'all need to look at overeem's history, dude last decent win was in 2006 against sergei kharitonov as a heavyweight, but then lost to him later. Dude was just an okay lhw and i doubt much has changed as a hw, especially since he's just been getting cupcake match ups.

This is more likely what to expect with him actually fighting a decent fighter

also, diaz vs cerrone should be good.

nate diaz vs. Cowboy cerrone is fotn no matter how long it is. My money is on brock.

the demolition man

:) :)

^^^

Yo H-Funk, did you see Overeem's latest video on Vimeo?

If so, there's a shirt that has him and Lesnar as Street Fighter caricatures. I cannot find this shirt anywhere!! BTW, who you got?
