In 6 seconds, this is what a hiring manager scans for when reviewing résumés

Needed this.
In October I hit the 1 year mark of being unemployed.
2016 has not been kind to me on the job front.
I've tweaked my resume at least 20 times.
Applied for over 200 positions so far.
The competition is unreal.

Perfect Attendance!

I've worked at 2 places in the past 21 years and during that time I have never missed a day or came to work late (besides a sick day or vacation days)!

I know that employers love it but is that something I should put on a resume?

My job is undergoing a partnership and it looks like I may have to jump ship!
:dunno:

BTW, I'm in the maintenance field (electrician, mechanical breakdown repair, welding etc.).

This ain't school bro

Nobody is going to care, because I'd figure you're lying

I can see that you're not (and probably

will never be) in charge of hiring potential

employees.

Employers DEFINITELY asks questions and

looks into your attendance at your past places

of employment.

Attendance is HIGH on employer's list for hiring.

Talk to any HR rep and they'll tell you.

And as far as I could be lying, employers contacts

previous and current employers all of the time

to verify that information that an applicant is

being truthful.

I don’t know about the private sector, but with federal employment, always start with your education, especially if you’re stacked. That always draws their attention than staring with your job experience. It worked for me.

Dunno about that one. I’ve had buddies who retired with a two year degree get 150k salaries

Back in 2008 when I was about to punch out with 15 years in homeland security was offering 80k+ jobs with incentives. Maybe it’s changed
