Can’t buy him love — or an advertisement for it.

Last week, 78-year-old Arthur Brooks decided his 48-year-old son had been single too long — so he took matters into his own hands. He did what any crazy father with no sense of boundaries would do: He placed a creepy $900 full-page ad for a wife for his son in a newspaper hundreds of miles away.

“I am looking for a wife who is ready, willing and able to have children as soon as possible," the ad in the Coeur d’Alene Press read.

The notice listed an age range — 34 to 38 — and assorted other demands, including that the woman agree to be a stay-at-home mom and that she be conservative.

“If you voted for Obama or plan to vote for Hillary you are not for me.”

His son Baron, however, had no idea there was a kooky ad campaign on his behalf.

“This is so crazy, I can’t even tell you,” the health food trade broker told the Daily News. “It’s very embarrassing and humiliating.”

The weekend the ad ran, the Salt Lake City resident saw his dad for Father’s Day.

“Everything was normal. My dad didn’t say a word,” Brooks told the Daily News.

He only found out when he turned his phone on Monday morning.

“I thought it was broken because it wouldn’t shut up,” he said.

He found thousands of emails and a deluge of Facebook requests.

The first one he clicked on was a reporter who wanted to know if he was the same Baron looking for a wife in Idaho.

“I said, ‘No, I think you’ve got the wrong Baron.’” So she sent him the ad.

“I knew right away who the culprit was,” he said .

“It was my crazy, crackpot, neurotic father. I can’t explain it. He’s nuts.”

Even though dear old dad may be a little off his rocker, Brooks intends to let him go through with his plans to interview potential wifey candidates in person at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Originally, a handful of interviews were slated for this weekend, but the women asked to have the date moved back in light of the ongoing media frenzy.

Brooks admitted that dating has been a challenge for him, since he lives in Utah but is often out of state on business.

Unfortunately, this well-intentioned but totally weird ad isn’t actually making his dating life any easier.

“I was seeing a new girl in Salt Lake and when she found out about the ad, she cancelled and wants nothing to do with me,” he said.
