I'm thinking about going Solar Energy at my crib. Anybody here fucks with Solar to power their home?

We have solar on a 2000 sq foot home. We have 16 panels and honestly, I think that is way too many. My man oversold us and did not tell us some of the downfalls of financing it. If I could do it all over again, I would do even more research to see who else is providing the service and get multiple quotes. I would not have wifey sign the paperwork as she spent read shit! Just signs and go’s (I read my whole Morgtage before signing that bih). I would also get a better understanding of how much power I generate today and consider I may purchase an electric vehicle. My bills have been as low as $30 in the winter and as high as $100 in the summer. With an efficient HVAC system we are saving more money than ever. Last note, most state have gotten rid of you selling electricity back to the grid, there are a few but most have moved to the “credit” system. Which means no extra money in your pocket, you just bank electric credits for you months when there is less sun. I’d do it all over again, I would just be a little smarter about it.

That's why when people ask me
why i don't move into a bigger
house, I tell them that I like my
1,400 sq ft house that's paid for.
I like the fact that it doesn't take
much to power and maintain and
the taxes and insurance is low.

I have friends that drive $90 SUVs
but complain about gas, tires and
costs of repairs. If you want the
bigger and better shit, don't
complain about the cost of it (I'm
not referring to you, Truth).

I'm one that will sacrifice some
shit so that I can have cash to
save, invest and other shit.
...ok, I'm kinda a tightwad when
it comes to certain things but
I like to invest in certain shit and
watch that investment flourish.
No doubt, it’s funny I mentioned this on BGOL and people acting like houses under 3000 Sq ft are unlivable. Niggas used to them gigantic cheap mansions they paid 200k for are a waste. Big ass houses are more maintenance, more taxes, more water, more utilities overall. My property tax is already retarded and goes up crazy because the hone values here increase like crazy every damn month. I can’t imagine having a 3000 + sq ft house here I’d be getting killed

Around $35k for panels and powerwall. I’m waiting on installation for 2 additional powerwalls. I can’t add any more panels. House is about 10k sq ft.
At least 500 amps coming in. About 50 lights outside for the landscaping.
One of the first things I did when we moved in was change all the lights to LED.
Heating is radiant. Hot water running under the floor.
that's a damn good deal

Any updates on how the solar panels? Pros and Cons? Just bought a crib and moving in the next 6 months. Thinking about getting them, but not sure.
I’ve been waiting for about 2 years for 2 more Powerwalls. Once they’re installed, I’ll be able to power my home for 24 hours. I ordered them so long that my price is crazy low compared to now. And signed a contract so no changing the price.

Thanks bro. So you like having them installed so far?

Oh yeah, package is expensive. Like $287/month. I pay $687/month like an idiot. Once I pay early, no more payments. And very little for electricity.

Gotcha. Thanks!

My boy was saying I need to get it, but the only concern I have is can you upgrade at anytime since the technology changes so much?

Also, if you wanted to sell your home, could you take them off if the new buyer doesn't want solar?

Did you ever go solar up here? Was wondering how it is working out for you if you did.

Nah, not yet. Been too busy/lazy to pull the trigger. I want to do most of the work and have a company integrate it with my electrical system. I thought the cost would have come down over these years but I'm not sure that it has. The earliest now will be spring 2024. I will be in better shape to get this done. Thanks for reminding me fam.

I finally pulled the trigger! I had 23 Tesla solar panels installed and it's up and running. I have to wait for city electrical inspector to come out and also my power company to take a look and make the final switch. Just in time to receive our 30 percent IRS clean Energy tax credit because the tangerine turd is pulling the tax credit at the end of 2025. :smh:

We are super excited!

I will take some drone pics and post them later.
