I'm still confused about the Democrats

When they were in the minority, they stopped Bush and the GOP from passing the warrantless wiretapping bill but when they are the majority, they pass it. Are they, as the Republican hitmen have been telling us, a party of pussies or did they get elected a bunch of closet Republicans? I wasn't shocked that Lieberman went along or Casey in Pa. but what about the other 14 Senators and 41 Representatives?

Shit like this is why I'm independent.

The demos and repubs are batting for the same team. We live under a one party system. Right/left, liberal/conservative is just a smokescreen.

No your correct many of the democrats are weak. Many of the democrats that were voted in last November were in conservative or republican districts. Some how they are pressured in to voting Bush’s way, which I don’t understand since they were voted in for at least, a change in the way business is being done in Washington, whatever your perception of change is. Also many of them are so called moderated/conservative Blue Dog Democrats. The political landscape has shifted so far right since the early 1980s that most politicians are afraid to express liberal or progressive ideas. In fact the right has done such a good job of demonizing the term liberal. In my opinion, we must vote in more liberal and progressive representatives. Business as gotten incredible powers over our lives over the last 30 years and we have given up most of our personal rights through authoritative conservative politicians. I’m an independent too, but I find that some democrats have the right idea.

See my thread; Conservative Democrats Ain’t Listening, Vote Them Out!

The same way the conservatives have made the word liberal seem to be demonized by the Republicans the word conservative has been demonized by the Democrats. They only won the election because everyone is pissed at Bush. and the Dems will probably win the presidency due to the hatred of Bush. It's all about who is in charge now! No one party is looking out for the people, but are only looking out for the lobbyist.

Stay independent with your views and vote for the best candidate not for a party. If you vote down the party line then you are not doing yourself any good.

Not true, conservatives have usurped the meaning of the word conservative. How can someone call themselves a conservative and increase the size of the government to its largest ever? Increase the federal dept to the greatest in human history? Step on constitutional rights by ease dropping and take away due process? Liberals have their issues with conservatives, but today’s conservatives are shooting themselves in the foot.
