Man all you have to do is dig for fossils in sedimentary rocks... Where each layer or ring represents a season change, something you can count back just like the rings of a tree...

as for reports of flying dragons...
2000 years ago there were alot more of this species in the South Pacific and Indian Oceans, now they can only be found on a few islands...
How hard is it to imagine that sea serpent sightings were really just swordfish, sharks, or other large agressive fish?
