Good lookin righ here. I can remember havin waves back in high school. Shit wasn't planned tho. Now my dome is just regular, no waves at all. I always keep a fresh cut tho, so it's straight. Now that I'm lookin at this thread tho, I might try to make the swim team. I'ma keep an eye on that forum tho no doubt.

back when I had hair on my dome, i would use REFINED shea butter to get a look that the ladies seemed to love. my wig was soft, silky, and the ladies loved it... esp. white gals for some strange reason.

this shit is expensive, but it is by FAR the best shea butter product you can use on your hair & scalp... even my barber switched to using it.

L'Occitane 100%, 4.9 oz.

where i cop this product?

When do we stop doing this? When our hair exactly like that of a white man? Why do you people pretend as if you think that Kanye West was wrong?

nah fammo dont get it twisted...gay men rock ALL hairstyles for one.

for two, like a few of the other homies said, females like wavy hair, theyll come over there and rub on them and all that...true story.

First, like I said, where I'm from only Gay men try to get that deep glossy almost finger wave looking 360 wave look as featured in the image. A little light natural waving is cool. What's f/in the image is nothing short of a fantasy for Ki-Ki and Twan. Quite flame-o-lisicious.

Second, if you're waving your hair just to get the attention of women, your priorities are misplaced bruh.

Don't worry so much about tightening the waves up and worry more about tightening that game up. Hair is just the garnish on the cake so to speak.

peace

I'm bald and over and over 30...but isn't this shit out of style by now. why not go for a full jerry curl and done?

L'Occtane is the shit.I use the shaving and aftershave creams.as far as wave, I think alot of it is your hair type.I dont do shit and my waves pop up like dude's second pic. That said, the only folks that really notice waves are other bruthas and hoodrats.I've never had a dime compliment my waves.

Damn you sure know a lot about fags. You must be a undercover one or somethin'. How you gonna say a nigga with 360 waves is a homo? lol. The only niggas without waves are the niggas who been tryin' since they were 5 and still can't get any. Didn't that nigga Sisqo rock blonde cornrows and shit? Ain't he homo? @ gay's having their own hairstyle. Get the fuck outta here with that nonsense.

damn i just went to their website & their it's about $22. but everywhere else, it's between $35-$65

if they selling it for $22, i HIGHLY suggest you buy it at that price. when i lived in jersey, i used to travel all the way out to the plymouth meeting mall in pennsylvania to their outlet store... it was like $28 back then.

Description: The wonderful properties of pure Shea butter are captured inside this little tin.

• Inspired by the traditions of southern France!
• Shea butter aids cell regeneration and capillary circulation
• Softens, protects and replenishes skin that is dry or damaged by the sun and wind
• A natural product to pamper you!

Recommended Use: Melt in palm of hand before applying. Use: For face, hands, body.

Ingredients: Shea butter

wash your hair very, very good to get all the bullshit out.
apply this to your scalp and start brushing and apply your rag.
give it a little time... i'd say 4-5 days, and your hair will soften up like you've NEVER seen; my shit was silky, silky smooth. i used to have the whole barbershop asking me WTF i used in my head.

and the women would stop me ALL the time... asking if my shit was natural or if it was some type of "kit."

my natural grain is very straight... so my hair would wave-up REAL easy. depending on your grain, you may need more time to get it to soften up.

don't worry about using too much because this shit is natural and will melt and absorb into your skin and scalp-giving your scalp a VERY healthy feel. believe it or not, i used to get pussy on the strength of my hair... women would just walk up and touch my hair sometimes-esp. them snow bunnies; them women are brave i tell ya.

The best way that I found for getting waves is leaving your hair a little wet after you get out the shower. While wet, brush then put on your durag. This shit works like a charm for me all the time.

I also use some of this whenever my scalp starts to dry out...

Why would you pay that much for it when you can get if for much cheaper at a health food store or a black mom-and-pop beauty supply store?

my shit been waved up like that since i was 13 and i learned how to take care of my hair.... No homosexual just good hair. if my hair wasn't already like this i wouldn't be dyin to get it this way. If you keep your hair cut on the regular no body cares about waves....

to answer BOTH of these questions...

1st... you WILL NOT find L'Occitane shea butter at a "mom & pop" beauty supply store unless it is "second" hand. they don't distribute their products... you HAVE to get it from them. btw, i did purchase some L'Occitane from an ebay seller, and when i opened the can, it was NOT L'Occitane. the guy pulled a bait & switch on me and several other people. i should've known better since he was selling so cheap.

fool me once...

2nd... there is NOTHING wrong with using pure, yellow shea butter, but it does have a "woodsy" smell. when it melts, it gets very light-unlike L'Occitane which is much thicker even after it melts a little.

the L'Occitane shea butter is ultra-refined and has a very light "buttery" smell, but it is also VERY, VERY thick like pomade but melts and gives your hair a very slick texture.

fellas... the shit is expensive, but it WORKS. i use natural yellow shea on my feet, hands, etc., but when it comes to my face, scalp, etc., i like to use L'Occitane; it works for me.

another advantage of using shea butter... it's 100% natural, it melts into your hair and scalp, and there is NO build-up. it stopped using all them damn chemicals in my hair a long, long time ago.

the whitemans ice is always colder brotha...

all you niggas talking about that homo shit, pull your skirts down. the shit is called grooming. brothas nowadays walk around looking like dope fiends. learn to use a damn shoe tree, some polish and an iron to press your clothes. a brotha should be getting his shit lined up at least every other week. its called self respect, not no homo shit.

Damn. Thank you baby Jesus for my father who gave me that "good hur". I couldn't imagine putting all that chemical on my scalp. Something just doesn't seem right about that.
That's probably why so many dudes getting bald these days. I know one kid with thinning hair at age 20. Thats ridiculous.

Is this the same shit ? HERE if so 18 bones aint bad ,i gotta try this out.

two things:

1. that is scented with verbana.
2. the price of $18 is for 2 oz.

if you can find this stuff for less than $30, be careful... the last time i checked, it was $36 for 4.9 oz from the L'Occitane store.

I can still get a 2 OZ jar of pure shea butter at a local store for $5.00. I don't see how L'Occitane can be any better, but, since I've never tried it, I won't argue with you.

Need some advice. It's been many years since I've bought and wore a wave cap, and the type of durag I used to wear used had the wrap-around strings that left marks around my forehead when tied. It was also uncomfortable wearing it too after a short amount of time.

Do you think this particular wave cap will eliminate the *forehead marks* and also provide better comfort? Thanks!

see i got tips for the dudes with the straight but a lil curly hair as black folks say the good hair. what i do is wash my hair and use my brush to brush the shampoo out while rising. then put the condintionar in and brush out to. always dry your hair in the direction your gonna be brushing it. i use 360 style brush that shit in put on a du rag. do this for like a week in the middle of the week just brush your hair a few times a day. after that you should see the waves commin in. them boys dont go away for life if you just do it like that.

Sigh, so basically start with a normal hair pattern, end up looking like a flaming homosexual?

What's the big deal with deep, glossy 360 waves anyway? Where I'm from, only gay men try to pull that look off.

Bruh, can you please let me know what hood you from? In all seriousness tho. Cuz I'd HATE to pass through and have a bunch of "happy" people stroll up and try to give me the grand tour.

Max-dawg:

Brotha I have been using L'Occitane products for a long time and they DEFINITELY have quality products. But in all actuality they are just charging for the name and whatever fragrance they choose to use. I stopped using their shea when I found out how much their mark-up was from Raw Shea that I could order online etc.... Much respect to you and everyone else trying to help the brothaz out. We all know that no 2 people's hair, skin, etc.. are alike so it's really trial and error, but all everyone appreciates personal input.

That being said. I have been using the Raw White Shea Butter (the yellow stains sometimes) from Madina for awhile now and it is better FOR ME than anything I've ever used. Fellas, Max is 100% correct. That is the best shit for you skin, period. That's what dictates the health of you hair. All those chemicals will FUCK YOUR SHIT UP and have dudes losing hair WAAAAAAY prematurely. RIP to the dudes who've already waved the white flag on that front....

Now on the waves tip, I've ALWAYS had waves since I can remember. My dad used to make me wet my hair and brush it and put a du-rag on since I was probably 5 or so. If you guys truly want your shit to pop quickly though here are a couple tips:

1. I seen dudes biggin up Dudu Osun in the other thread. Wash your hair with that shit everyday. But before you rinse it out, use a brush and brush your hair with that shit in your hair still. Then rinse it out. After you get out the shower and do whatever your routine is, put the shea in your hair after you've patted it down to make it a lil' damp and then brush in the desired pattern. Immediately throw the du-rag on (fuck those stocking caps They snatch hair out everytime you take them off).

2. Most important part is to BRUSH YOUR HAIR WITH THE DU-RAG ON! This will force your hair to lay down and keep it on for 30 minutes or so, unless it's at night and you can rock it while you sleep.

Hope this helps my brothaz out. Peace...

didn't waves play out back in the late 80's?,,, ya'll probably still rocking those Bill Cosby sweaters too,,, looking like Keith Sweat and shit,,,

i've tried just about all the shea butters out there. i haven't mentioned this before, but i used to be the "middle man" for lots of shea marketers in new jersey years ago; damn near 70% of the shea coming into the local markets passed thru my hands first. i had all the flea markets and local shops.

but seriously, the l'occitane is different. take some of it and rub it in your hands until it's melted. and then, compare it to your other brands. to me, it stays "thicker," and provides a "pomade" type consistency.

also, different people have different skin and different hair grains. my hair is naturally straight and the l'occitane did me right-making my waves "sick." but now, at 38 yrs old, and my hair has been thinning since 02, but what i have left is still looking ok cause the women still comment.

 Waves never really play out. In every era there have always been at least a few dudes who still rock them. Trendy hairstyles come and go, but waves are like "old reliable". When all else fails just cut it low and break out the pomade, brush and doo-rag.

BTW Most of the females I've dealt with (especially older black women) prefer neatly kept waves to just about any other hair style (Cornrows, Braids, Dreads) on men.

I see a lotta posts trying to associate waves with faggotry or being "played out". I don't know about y'all, but I get the shit naturally from brushin' hair...that's all. Niggas is too insecure...
