Ghana cuz its beautiful there. A close second would be Holland because the atmosphere there is spectacular.
Kaiserslautern(1 hour from France) or Stuttgart Germany(beautiful city). 5 hours from Prague/4 hours from Amsterdam , 3 hours from Munich

Me. It would probably be Canada. I live in Japan now, it's nice, but not forever kind of living.
Dude I was thinking the same thing. Free masters degrees, free health care. IF you came into the country with the right mindset/financial stability/people it would be a great place rest for while.

Lived in Germany 4 years loved it...but I wouldn't want to be anywhere but the US

I think Kaya or Boro made a post a long time ago about living abroad for EXPATS. But if I had to choose it would be Cuba, Philippines, Brazil, or some place in Caribbean.
To answer Ballscouts question, I think folks would leave the US if they had the necessary resources to start anew some place else. You want to know how fucked up Bush's administration was. Just remember all those folks who left for Canada when he won his second term.
Thats why I say people putting alot of blame on Obama is disingenuous. What is going on with the US is not just about Obama. Its about the fact that the US has been in decline for the past 30 years and most American citizens are in denial about it. I love this country just like most of y'all do but I absolutely loathe the individuals who run it. After this whole debt ceiling charade, its become very obvious that there are those (mainly republicans) who are hell bent on destroying whatever exceptionalism America has left. And the worst part is the whole world took notice and would have been affected (again) if there was a default.
At this juncture, its either you get your money up so nothing a politician does will affect you or you get your money up and go live somewhere else (another country) where you might be able to find some peace of mind.
