Again, from Black Dynamite to Friday to most of the Wayans Bros. Collection there are quality Black slapstick comedies. There are quality Black films in most every genre.
Tyler Perry just makes shitty movies. Even when he has a good story/idea he fails, hard, with its execution.
And Inkwell certainly was good, my list wasn't exhaustive.

I couldn't finish Black Dynamite because it was a rip off of Dolemite and Rudy Ray Moore who would be considered buffoonery.
Friday is a classic but if that shit wasn't stereotypical and buffoonery nothing is.

Shit isn't meant to be historical nor dramatic. It is comedy and some of it is funny..
I also liked the family that preys...daddys little girls was good. why did i get married was good.
Some of the early madea movies were funny but then it got tired and repetitive.

Perry's movies suck. They're unimaginative, unfunny, predictable and dry. They're filled with extremely annoying one-dimensional characters. Everybody's either perfect or the most evil people on Earth.
Regardless of if he's doing slapstick comedy or "gripping" dramas, his execution is TERRIBLE.
I'm not holding him to any 'special standard' he just doesn't have the talent to make a quality film. I wish he would do more Precious-like projects where he provides financial backing/distribution of a real filmmaker's work.
