what if...time does not exist but is actually a figment of mans imagination.....

That's the thing, lol how do they know how old the universe really is? they don't, it's all just fuckin random guesses. Nobody can prove how things came to the way they are now. Not through science, nor through religion. That is the limits of our human experience. There is so much shit we will never fully understand. you can either have faith in God/Buddah/Allah etc and believe things will come to light once you die. or you can believe what some scientists tells you about the universe exploding and a bunch of rocks colliding, thus creating Earth. It's always gonna be a mystery.

ive been pondering that for the last 32yrs.....maybe ill find out when die :(

now that, if u think about it, is a deep response...i can only figure at some point , in the same manner that things are created in outer space (stars, constellations, planets, etc.) that our planet was formed in that particular time period in question.

come on man don't ask shit thats unsolvable. no one person on this planet knows not even jesus! just go with the flow.

Whether science or god, you get clowned for the "what was going on b4 " question.

Hey, if its 15 billion year old how come the most you remember bout it is the amount of info you got in your lifetime?????????????????????????????

I mean you might have been born in the 80's...............................

if you are supposed to live forever shouldnt you remember 200 years ago????????????????

think of this.... if the Big Bang only created a single hydrogen atom... where there was nothing before...

would the hydrogen atom be Hugely Big or infintesimaly small?

and how big would the cosmos be?

and how would you measure time, if not to count the electrons orbits, or spins?

and how would you demark space and time to pinpoint an exact location in time?

and how far beyond the orbit -shell- of the electron would space and time go?

and, would there be any space and time befor the Hydrogen atom's appearance?

how could time be talked about or measured with out the existance of a single particle -in motion-?

you must be high, cus i don't understand one word your saying. i mean, you're speaking in complete sentences, but the words you decided to string together make no sense. please respond when you are level headed.

anyway, my answer is... everything that MAN creates to measure things, from an inch to a galaxy, is MAN MADE. a century to you and me, could be a second to whomever or whatever created the universe. so what i'm saying is... don't dwell on how insignificant your life is in terms of the universe... just live a good life, and hopefully you will find out the truth when it's over.

:DU must be on that dro, homeboy:yes:!!! Naw, just jokin' but seriously, that is one mind-blowing question! My theory is....Man I don't fuckin' know:dunno:!!! That's is some deep ass shit, tho!!! My brain is heaving in my head right now trying to wrap itself around that.

You're such an idiot. Anything that might have happened pre-big bang, if time existed, would be unobservable to us. Thus, science would have nothing to say on the subject. Of course, that doesn't stop you religious retards from making shit up as you go.

15 million is the "age," based on the rate that the universe is expanding.
Big bang as nothing to do with the origin of anything. It just describes the movement of matter through space-time. Anything prior to singularity is speculation. Some predict this universe will slow down then contract back to a singularity, then expand again... with our "big bang" just one in a serious of pulses. Nice, but that has no more basis in evidence than intelligent design gibberish...

Big bang is descriptive. Its not up for debate any more than the geometry of constellations.

My bad, that was a "anti religion" rant.

I get the OP's question, I was just on some other shit, excuse me.

....but I still say field a question to science asking what was going on b4 the big bang and a question to religion about b4 god and you get.

:dunno: "fuck you asking me for?"

My thing was at least with science they dont give you the eternal soul shit, when you cant even remember what happened 10 years b4 you were born.

16 billion years ago?

At least with science they say......"fuck if I know I we trying to find out".

With religion its "STFU, dont question god".

It hard to understand but matter and time are the same thing. In other words time does not exist without matter. Time ends and beins when matter does. Even more confusing is that time does not exist as you think it does. It is a phonomenon that happened once during the big bang when matter was created. In fact we are in the big bang right now. These are the things that scientist are working on so unfortunately this is all incomplete but what I have here is where we are at right now.

NOTHING WRONG WITH THE OP'S QUESTION... in fact it is the very question that has been driving me mad for some time. Along with the fact that I'm taking all these premed classes and busy as fuck. This shit is unbelievable. I mean multicelled organisms straight down to a onecelled organism. Shits incredible. we all come from nothing... but what was before? Religion has the answer? Yet doesn't because the shit doesn't make sense. Why would the creator not give us an instruction manual or something?

Today i came to the conclusion that we are like terminators in a sense to where we are programmed not to know certain shit. Terminators have no emotion... they don't understand it. Well we don't know wtf to think about the afterlife or anything that isn't consistent with what we see in front of us. We all deal in relativity. Shit bugs me the fuck out

Why do some people commit suicide??? The questions bug me the fuck out

:smh: This shit is more convoluted than the OP's question.

How did you come to that conclusion, enlighten us if you please? Also, time does have a relative standard that being whatever measure of time is the mean for your existance or your understanding as such e.g.- I am that I am. So, time has always existed. Don't let some corny ass scientist do ALL your thinking family

What I don't understand is supposedly the Universe Expands and Collapses back onto itself. So Are these "experts" saying there are numerous big bangs that occurred and at a certain point the shit just starts all over again? Parallel universes? These mothafuckas don't know SHIT!! Space is something too vast and complex for the human mind.

It's so enormous and ridiculous it's basically a waste of fucking time to explore because we can't even send people to fucking mars in a reasonable time. The nearest galaxy is what? 1000 light years away? You know how fucking far that is? It means if you turned a light on in your house, it would take 1000 years for that light to reach the next galaxy. Get the fuck outta here. How the fuck do they know that distant shit in space is still there, that shit could have died millions of years ago and we just now getting the light. FUCK THAT!!!

GOD did it. As if that answer is any better. :hmm:

Serious. Watch "THE UNIVERSE" on the History Channel. They broke this down last week.

What was the title of the episode?

Its coming on again
Saturday, March 29 10:00 AM EST

The Universe
Episode: Beyond the Big Bang

The universe began with a massive expansion, billions and billions of years ago, and it continues to expand with every passing second. The idea that the universe, and man's very existence, began with a "Big Bang" is no longer a topic of debate among most scientists--it is essentially taken as fact. How has man come to this conclusion, and how has our knowledge evolved so that we can recreate the very first seconds of our universe and all that has developed since? Interviews with the world's leading physicists and historians are woven together with animated recreations and first-person accounts to explain concepts such as the formation of galaxies, the creation of elements and the formation of Earth itself.

You're an idiot. Do you believe the world is six thousand years old?

I think this is where my parents messed up. My parents are Christians. When I was a kid and asked about the universe and stuff like that, my mom and dad would be like, "Don't think about that" or "Stuff like that will drive you crazy"

So what does a child do when your parents don't deal with questions a child has? The child goes and tries to find out anyway.

The conclusion that I did draw however, was that if God/Creator/Force wanted me to know, I would know. But I think that kind of information needs to be unknown. Because as soon as man finds out, I am certain that somebody will want to find some kind of way to bend the rules of the universe or use it for power and greed purposes. I wish my parents would have explained that to me.

Its stupid to believe the universe is 15 billion yrs old remember this is coming from folks who believed the earth was flat and that the earth was the center of our solar system and universe.

I rather keep seeking answers than accept ignorance.

I rather keep seeking answers than accept ignorance.

Well, I'm not accepting ignorance. I still watch documentaries and read books about string theory, parallel universes, kemet and the dogon and all that.

I just know that information in the wrong hands can be destructive. That's what I mean to say

Everything you see hear, see, smell and touch is defined by man. So who is to tell whats real and whats not.

THEORY-
a particular conception or view of something to be done or of the method of doing it; a system of rules or principles.

Life itself is a theory.

We as humans stand on the plane that Thor likes to call "Midguard" or Middle Earth. In essence we exist in the middle of two known universes: The Microverse and the Macroverse. The Microverse is the place on the molecular level and beyond and the Macroverse is the place outside Earth. We use powerful microscopes to penetrate into the microverse and equally powerful telescopes and satellites to peer out into the macroverse. And believe it or not, the distance "between" our plane of existance and and either universe is infinity. Notice how scientists keep discovering smaller and smaller particles as they make more powerful instruments to examine the different particles of atoms and the particles of those particles? IKt's a very far journey to the center of the microverse. And they still haven't found the outer "wall" of the macroverse yet. Their theories continue to change with each new galaxy that they find further and further from Earth. And here's something that will totally flip you out. What if it was possible that both micro and maco are linked? Sounds convoluted, doesn't it? Try and wrap your brain and scientific theory around THAT one!

What was before 15 billion years ago? Everything you see now, but in a point smaller than an atom. Usually called the Singularity.

How long was the Singularity around before the Big Bang? We will probably never know that. Just like the Singularity within Black Holes there are things we can't understand because our various scientific ways to measure/record/test/report/explain/understand them break down beyond a certain point.

Crossing the Event Horizon of a Black Hole is the point of no return. Nothing comes out the same way it goes in, so in turn, crossing the Big Bang Singularity is the point of no return as well, the info is there where we can't recover it.

What's weirder still to wrap your minds around is that many billions of years from now the Universe will have expanded so far apart that no matter where we look we will only see the stars in our galaxy.

All other galaxies will be too far to see. The background radiation from the Big Bang will be un-measurable. Red and Blue shifts of nearby galaxies used to measure speed of expansion will be gone.

If scientist starting out then try to explain the Universe there will be no evidence that the Big Bang took place. No evidence of expansion. They might just conclude that the Super Massive Black Hole in the center of the Milky Way is the Beginning and the End of all they know.
