Promoting NOTHING but the blu ray disk, and not games or the PS3!!??!!??

Just go to 1up.com and see for yourself.... look at the adds for "free blu ray disk player".... WHY NOT FREE PS3??? Why?? because they dont give a shit about the PS3... For months they've just been promoting blu ray but not the PS3 or the games... just Blu ray. and thats because Sony knows they will make way more in the new format (blu ray)... I for one aint falling for the okey-doke... I'm going to cop a HD DVD player asap!
 
only thing is that certain movies will be only bluray but youre right thats been sony's agenda from the beginning.

Fanboys can have a field day with this one: Digger Key10000 snapped a pic of a controversially worded retail ad in the UK that positions the PS3 as a Blu-ray player that "also plays great games." For all we know it's perhaps positioned in a Blockbuster video store where it would make contextual sense, but to a hardcore gamer the ad reads like a parody no matter where you put it. Truth in advertising or a marketer's jab at Sony? Depends how much you like Talladega Nights, I guess.

It wasnt MS who was harping on the POWER OF THE "CELL" & "BLU RAY"and leaking that the RSX was the equivilant of 2 Nivida 7800 graphics cards! Also showing CGI movies 2 years ago claiming they were real time in game footage, (MGS4, KILLZONE2, WARHAWK, DMC4, SONIC, FFXIII) Only to have them on the other console first or not even produce any of the games they were hyping as launch games even 6months after PS3 launch! Add that to the Fact that the shit is over $700 to bring home with ONE game, and its losing exclusives like a cancer patient losing weight! Not that peeps is BROKE there is no motivation or Incentive to BUY a PS3, Only 2 games worth playing , Live is killing PSHUB, and you can get the same games on the other system and most the time they look better or the same! Online Xbox live is the seeler imo, online rooms are full always!
 
No hate on the PS3 , If you got it and like it fine! but go research all the hype and propaganda that was released for the Xbox360 and the PS3 be fore they launched! You will find alot of bullshit Sony put out there when they didnt have a product ready they Hyped up the PS3 only to keep u from buying the xbox360!Ps3 is really a way to install its propriety CELL, and blu ray! oh yeah it plays great games also! Think about it!

Doc, stop with the bullshit. It's not about price and you know it. It's about value in the purchase. If you would get your head out of Sony's ass, you would see that. Come on what have you been playing on it? Fall Of Man ain't that got old yet? VF 5? Yeah that worth it, no online fighting=what's the point? You just been watching Blu-ray movies and not playing games. Hello! It's a video game system, at least it's supposed to be anyway.

Am I wrong to believe that although they are pimping blu ray heavy that they also plan to make blu ray a MAJOR part of their games also. For instance it's been noted that MGS4 would not fit on a regular DVD disc that Xbox 360 uses and that it would take like 2 or 3 to equal up to the storage capacity of a single bluray.
And spare me all of that compression talk please.

No youre not wrong to believe it but seeing as theyre just giving ports and just pimping the movie entertainment factor to the fullest , its looking like a little bit of neglect.
Point being is from a ps3 owner and a reg bluray player owner shouldnt you both be satisfied fully, not just one. If the system is out then make Gaming its primary focus .

I copped anew PS2 and Crisis Zone with a usb light gun... can you say FUN!!!!

considering the circumstances I am satisfied on both ends. Its just that the Ps3 is still a very young system at only 5months and it will only be a matter of time before all of the "killer aps" will become available. I have proven that at the same time that the ps3 and 360 have the same amount of games and similar sells at the same time when compared.
 
I have played a PS3, it has some quality graphics and all but it just costs too much. So does the XBOX 360. If I just had $600 to spend like that, I would probly buy something else with it cuz I aint a gamer like that. Its a good system but they need to drop the price.
 
I just got a brand new 60GB PS3 for $300. I already had a 360. At $300, so far so good... I'd have serious buyer's remorse if I would've paid full price tho.

So you mean to tell me that just because some Jordans cost $200, that they are worth that much? Bullshit.

I own a 360, but I am not an XBOX fanboy. The difference is, there's value in the purchase of a 360, because the GAME library is deep. Paying $600 for a game system with no games is fanboyish and stupid. If you got it Blu-ray, then you should've just got a stand alone. I personally don't care about Blu-ray or HD DVD and I ahve said it many times.

Also as I have said before, I used to be a straight up Sony fanboy, during the PS1 days. I was eagerly anticipating the PS2 at one point, I fell for the hype from Sony and believed all the bullshit they said. Then Sega announced the Dreamcast and it's specs and everything about it, just blew PS2 away, just like the Saturn blew away the PS1. Of course it didn't have the third party support and it was DOA. Sony launches PS2 and it didn't live up to the hype and had no games at launch and everyone bought it for DVD and the games it did have looked like shit. Madden and Live looked like crap, I was very happy with 2K. At that point there was nothing that Sony could offer me. So after the DC died, I patiently waited to try the XBOX, and when I got it, it was a wrap for Sony. Then came all the BS statements by Sony and all their arrogant fanboys made me hate Sony and PS2 so they get's none of my money. They all had their nose in the air talking about PS2 got more games, but most of those games were complete crap. Fast forward to today, Sony is losing exclusives left and right, they have no game releases coming up in the near future and MS continiues to give GAMERS what they want while Sony just feeds fanboy fodder with stupid statements they have no intention of backing up.

So fuck Sony! And it's fans! :dance:

Theres no need for all that there man and the games are coming i keep stressing you all(360) had the same problem last year after launch...the post launch drought, don't forget i have a 360 sitting right here before you go acting a fool, gears was great but waaaaay too short but exciting, the only other game i've played rainbow six and that was outright fun, i played it mainly b.c of how pitiful some of the ports are that we get with oblivion being the exception, last night i got accepted into the Home beta so i'll be able to test drive that out soon.. but as far expecting the big deal with xbox live, i was really frustrated with the fact i had to ask my pal(whos a manager at eb) let me scoop one of those 3 month trial things just so i can play online.. not much of anything else on the 360 that I haven't played with a PC, spring/summer are really drought periods for gamers alike unless you "just bought a wii and are getting used to it, if you can find one"

the ps3 library is small at the current state but certainly the games are coming as far as exclusitivity...phil harrison even said the ps3 does not have the install base yet to secure major exclusives..the ps3 price will drop to about 499 and if this blu-ray rumor i'm hearing holds up more than likely cheaper than that say 399 am i satisfied with my purchase?

heck yeah, i enjoy my movies in lush hd and i don't play games all day or night so the games library is not a biggie to me because really..i knew what i was getting into before i bought the system

but i will say its pricepoint expense for those who simply cant afford or see 600 bucks as a lot of money..which it is ,luckily i saved up..but like smurf says once it hits the $300-400's , especially if the $300's its a wrap but for not i expect things to be like it is through the summer until the fall
