Nope, you are wrong. Up to this point there have been 43 white presidents, these are symbols of what a white child can become. When that history book is opened, when that museum is visited, when pictures of that president is plastered on mugs, curtains, bumper stickers, coins, dollar bills, and all those other material matters---it becomes a living thing, a daily reminder of the possibilities for that white child. When a black child surveys his or her environment for clues to what they can become usually----music stars, athletes, or something in the entertainment field. Yes and the black youth can look up to black symbols of success in numerous fields like in the judicial field, medical, and many others; however there has never been a black president. Barack represents a new possibility of what that child of color can become and talk about with pride at the prospect of their future that truly has no limit.
Amerikkkan Idol you must not be black. You don't know what it's like to be told in school ---Your people were slaves and then there was Dr. Martin Luther King jr. ---- that was it, while almost all of the text book was focused on the accomplishments of white Americans. Barack, again, offers a new hope, a new mindset, a brighter future for black children everywhere.

Nigga, I'm very Black, and I'm from one of the Blackest cities in Amerikkka, that's how I know what the fuck I'm talkin' about.
Second of all, you keep assuming that White kids open up history books period. Didn't you see
Ms. South Carolina

. That's what AMerikkkan kids sound like. Kids today of all races don't know shit. Most, in every survey taken, can't name the president, vice president, can't find Ohio or Florida on a map, and most couldn't find Iraq, Iran, or Afghanistan on a map. White kids' role models are Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, My Chemical Romance, and the same ones that Black kids look up to. . . Rappers, athletes, and entertainers. I love how you give Amerikkkan kids the benefit of the doubt of actually being intellectually ambitious. They're not.
Directly affect me, not much. Biggest affect on me personally will hopefully lead to more tech jobs.
For my Daughter and her brother, they will know that hey can REALLY become president. Baracks presidency, will give the youth something else to aspire to, Hell him being the front runner is doing that. BUT
The day he walks up pennsylvania avenue and enters the white house.... The world will know, that Black men can once again be the most powerful beings on the earth.
Sports will no longer be a way out, music, and dancing will no longer be the only way out, education will truly come to the foreground, even if it takes 2 years.
Manning is gonna burn in hell.
Ha, ha. White people see American Idol and reality shows as their way out and they're white. How many poor rednecks you think, think of politics as their way out? Rich, educated, privileged kids are the ones who become presidents. Bill Clinton's probably the only one in recent history to come from absolutely nothing and become president, which is why he was so grimy. All the rest of them n*ggaz grew up in New England, Orange County and went to places like Yale, Harvard, and grew up at least privileged, at most out and out rich. That's not going to change anytime soon. It's class, even more than race that's keeping us out of the White House. Colin Powell could've been president in '96, 2000, and 2004. He chose not to run, but everybody agrees that he would've killed Clinton, Bush and anybody else.
The problem aint role-models. I don't see kids idolizing Thurgood Marshall. The problem is that Amerikkka's run by the rich and super educated elitists. That's not gonna be changed by Barack Obama, or anybody else, anytime soon. If you're thinking that the Indians who talk about you behind your back, when you go into the Quik-E-Mart, the Mexicans, who hate the fact that you exist, and the Asians, who you get your hair products from, are gonna treat you any different because Obama's in office, then you're insane.
The Africans already believe that he's successful because he's one of them, not one of us. Expect to hear a lot of that, when you start telling Nigerians and other Blacks about how Obama's "Black", like we are.
Like I said earlier. I hope, if he's elected, that he'll clean up Bush's messes, get us out of Iraq sooner, fix the economy, and do his thing. Anybody looking for him to "raise your kids", do something specifically for Blacks, or somehow change "your" status in the world, you're insane.
