Here's an article and link about dude and at the end of the interview, they discuss Elba playing James Bond. It's just a rumor right now.

Idris Elba tells Linda Wertheimer on Wednesday's Morning Edition that he didn't come to the United States from the UK to play "black roles," but merely "roles." And he has: roles like Stringer Bell on HBO's dark drug epic The Wire and John Luther, the central character of Luther, a drama series that returns for a second season tonight on BBC America.

Elba was nominated for an Emmy for Luther's first season, playing the detective he says has a close relationship with rage and a resulting ability to identify with the perpetrators he pursues. "The difference between someone with a conscience and someone [without]," he says, "is that one person will say, 'You know what? No, I'm not going to go over to that person and smash them in the face.' But the other person is quite close to that decision without any remorse and just will do it. And I think Luther is close to that mark all the time."

first season of luther was some of the best TV i have ever seen

second season was good.. can't wait for the third
 
Season 1 was the shit, season 2 not so much, they should not have written alice out of the script... And that masked killer shit was so done before

Glad they are making another season though
 
I'll tell you all, you better get up on these British shows! They have some of the best actors & shows hands down. Just to name a few, Luther, MI 5(Spooks), Mis Fits, Wire in the blood, just to name a few!!:yes::yes::yes::yes:

Doctor who is good, but they ruined Torchwood, "Secret Diaries of a Call Girl" is off the chain, "Shameless" is awesome, "ITcrowd" is funny as hell, but you really have to be tuned in to British humor.

And there's no good reason why Driis shouldn't be the next James Bond. Daniel Craig is a damn good Bond. But after watching DCI Luther, there's no doubt that Elba would be the shit. I think he's got everything it takes to carry that franchise.

I had never heard of it until BBCA had started advertising it a few months ago.
I will be checking it out tonight.

Without having seen "Luther" yet, Elba can play anything. Incredible actor.
 
Why are people still asking where they can find this show, or any show for that matter. The Main Board is not the beginning and end of BGOl.

It's all about how you download.

Been fucking with downloads for years, and haven't received a letter of recent.

I use Pthat blocks all the tracking links that the movie companies and other outlets use to track the torrents. So that keeps me safe.

But you know what, since it is only 4 episodes for the season, I've set my DVR to record them

The second season hasn’t aired on BBC America for stateside audiences yet (that’s coming late next month; UK audiences saw all season 2 episodes already earlier this year)... no matter, BBC One controller Danny Cohen announced at the ongoing Edinburgh TV Festival (running this weekend) that a 3rd season of Luther, the critically acclaimed psychological crime drama starring one Idris Elba, has been ordered!

Season 2 reportedly outperformed season 1, on average, attracting over 5 million viewers and was well received by critics.

No word yet as to how many episodes season 3 will have, or when it will air, though I’d expect it’ll be sometime in mid 2012.

Idris’ next project will be Pacific Rim which is scheduled to begin principal photography in October; but, as of right now, he hasn’t signed on to anything after that. So, he could very well go into Luther season 3 production shortly after that.

Idris has already expressed his desire for a big screen version of Luther. “The ultimate ‘Luther’ story will unfold on the big screen,” he said in an interview a couple of months ago. Not sure if that’ll ever happen; but at least what we can expect to see is a 3rd season.
