Idris Elba on Green Lantern Role: “I Like This Idea”

Dude would be a good fit.

I like Idris as john Stewert. He fits the role also t=not bad for BP but someone younger and a background in martial arts would be a better casting.

As for Idris playing Bond 007. I don't have a problem and it would be good for the franchise "in a perfect world". They should just use Idris as an MI6 agent and give him his on movie. That will keep cac's happy.

I rather see him build on his own franchise/character with Luther.
How about a Luther and 007 crossover.

As much as I'd like to see Idris as Green Lantern, I'd really rather see him in a MOVIE as

luther-1200x675.jpg

As much as I would like a Luther movie. In all likely hood it takes him no where new! To do there are still a lot of folks that have never heard of Luther. Sure it's very likely the fans of the show will pay to see it and a few stragglers. That's It!

Something like Green Lantern with the additional JLA movies and whatever cameos he can score would put his name out there alot more than Luther alone. If, DC plans to follow through with their stand alone movies after JLA he could possibly get at least one movie.

Hell I think he has a good chance of being casted as it already looks like an ALL WHITE CAST so far for JLA.

I'm not against the idea of him as Green Lantern, I just find his Luther character more interesting. You are talking about what would benefit him career-wise, I'm talking about the art and craft of acting. Playing GL might make him more MONEY but Luther is his shit. You can't knock people for wanting to see him on the big screen doing what he does as John Luther.

Evans' Johnny Storm is not in the same Cinematic Universe as Evans' Cap.

true but ff flopped so its different

Wait. FF did not flop. The first was mildly profitable and the second barely profitable. They underperformed financially and weren't very good, story-wise.

You really got hung up on, "its been done".

That didn't indicate any referral to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nobody I quoted said the "Marvel Cinematic Universe".

Dave and playahaitian said, "Marvel". That would most likely indicate the various franchises under Marvel Entertainment. That's how I took it.

You're railing against something that isn't there dude.

I should have been more specific.
