I'm Black, and I'm not a big Obama supporter. I personally feel Black people are looking to Obama to lead them to the promised land - and their is no damn way a pro-Black revolutionary will last four years in office. Knowing this, I feel many people who have been dying for him to get into office, will eventually turn on him. Vote for him, but PLEASE be realistic.

We have come a long way in this country, but America is not voting in a Black man whose going to represent Blacks. Showing us any favoritism will not be in his best interest. You can say I'm hating, but I can clearly see that much of the progress made in this country is superficial. The reality is Obama has to 'stay in line', or else.

c/s...lemme start by sayin i aint against Obama at all, im just being realistic...i definitely understand how big of a move this is for the black race and i dont wanna take anything away from that, but when you think about it, how far have black people really come in this world? yes we have made breakthroughs and differences but if you think about what we went through and what MLK, Parks and X had fought for, we should be a lot further along than we are now...take our young generation thats coming up right now as we speak, 70% if not 80% of them are lost, and these lost souls are the future of us, also there is way too much self-hate that is exhibited within our culture and a lot of it can be witnessed on these very boards...but all in all when it comes down to the come down, the united states is run by white people...white people stole this country, white people created a govt and law that benefits them and always will benefit them...and Obama being president dont mean the U.S. is changing for the good, the president doesnt control the U.S., the govt does, all the president is is a person for the general public to point at and say "you did this" whether it be good or a fuck up, all the president has 100% control over is armed forces...all the changes that need to be made have to go through all those old white men and women who most likely aint gonna be down for the cause...and realistically, how much do ya'll really think these white people are gonna let Obama change?...Obama cant go into office on some pro-black shit, they aint gonna have that...he has to "stay in line" as my dude said above...i also wanna say that i aint on some militant shit either because, thats what white people expect from the black race...my honest belief is that we as a people have to (#1)get off our ignorant shit, (#2)come together and stop this cycle of crabs in a barrel, and (#3)learn the govt and law the way the white man knows the govt and the law, and that will be the only way that we can "change" anything in this country...Obama may be a start, but its gonna take a lot more than a black president to change anything in this country...real talk
