I Need Internet Savvy Business Guy...

So I'm looking for a very savvy internet guy who has strength in marketing and sales. I've got an internet website that we've rebuilt for efficiency from the ground up. It's a blog site, but we need somebody comfortable with monetizing it and marketing the hell out of it every which way but loose. Google Ad Words, Affiliate exchange, Amazon and Eb Game partnerships, whatever it takes to turn a small profit, I need somebody who's familiar with the processes as well as has an ear to the ground to new tech for communication (Google Wave), and potential user base growth.

I don't have shit to pay, but I"m willing to pay on a commission-based basis. It's basically extra coin for staying on top of something that you're hip to anyway.

We're not trying to get rich from jump, but we would like to make more than just server costs...

If that's you, and you're fresh with ideas (You're always thinking that people ain't pimpin' facebook and twitter right) then get at me. I could use the help.

I was thinking what's in it for me if I knew how to do all that you ask. Why wouldn't I just go ahead and do it myself.

One aswer to your dollar a month is to create a message board with free porn, movies, and charge people $12 a month. hahahha

uniques? Our Monthly is low. We average about 80K a month. We really want to boost those numbers. Writers? There are 5 or so on staff, but it's mostly just me until I can get people motivated. I push out most of the content, video or written, that you see on the site.

I've really got to talk to the designer about it. We've been trying to find ways to speed it up. Right now, we're just trying to find a way to make SOME money off this thing. Currently, ads cover server costs, which is about 200 bucks. Some months don't make it.

We're considering adding paypal for donations, google ad words, amazon and/or ebgames partnerships.

Still, I'm trying to find a way to get 1.00 a month from 1000 people. It's a tricky thing. The conundrum is that we don't 'produce' anything. Opinions are free, right? I used to work in porn and the most valuable lesson that I learned is that if you actually make something - even if it has no immediate value - and keep the cost of making it cheap, as long as you stay under the radar on the asking price for that item, you're good to go.

So if you make a video and charge 3 buck a month to watch it with a recurring fee, people forget about that 3 bucks and usually forget about that video.

Now I'm thinking with recession logic. People are tighter with the wallets now (I certainly am), but they will spend - a little - on fun. So I'm spinning around thinking that getting people to pull out their wallet and spend $1.00 ($12.00) is a BIG thing.

My suggestion is to have members win something monthly, I would start at $5 personally from alot I've seen about member type sites. You can give away on "Winning Wednesdays" a random member of your VIP or paid members will win X, Y, or Z.

One idea is a $100 giftcards or concert tix, or maybe movie ticket passes for maybe a month. I am trying to think of things to giveaway catered to your members.

As far as money goes member sites are great. if you have current free members you have to first ask them IF they would be willing join a site like yours for a fee if you gave the VIP people incentives. If you are charging $5 a month, you have to give them 10x that in value to be a member monthly. In turn you have 1000 members paying $5, thats 5k. But the key is to not get greedy. At $5 you will continue to gain members and older members will forget they are even paying $5 or wont even care...

"cause its only $5" is the human mentality like "fuck it"
