I like what Shanahan did to McNabb...

Enough is enough... Donovan McNabb is one of those people who think he can seduce his way on to a football field by being nice to management. He has long forgotten that winning is the only reason why you should be on field. For a long time, he has behaved as if his mediocrity is an entitlement earned from the years when he was by himself the Philadelphia offense that played in 5 NFC title games..

I am happy at his yanking because it should have woken him up. Shanahan is not Andy Reid and he will not coddle McNabb. The bugger must win; he must run for first downs and quit thinking that he can be like every cac QB and sit in the pocket chucking passes to receivers...

McNabb will start next week, hopefully having learned the lesson that if he does not take winning seriously, his starting job will be on the line. This is the message Shanahan was trying to convey by yanking McNabb with the Skins trailing only by one point.

That's not WHY he said he yanked him. Try again.

Donovan McNabb Benched In Washington
by Jason Brewer • Oct 31, 2010 5:53 PM EDT

Back when the Eagles traded Donovan McNabb to the Redskins, Washington TE Chris Cooley claimed “This is one of the top 10 biggest bonehead trades in the history of the NFL.” Halfway though McNabb’s first season in Washington, it looks like Cooley was right… just not like he first thought.

As the Redskins were trailing the Detroit Lions by just one score in fourth quarter, Mike Shanahan pulled McNabb from the game in favor of Rex Grossman. Grossman promptly fumbled the ball and had it returned for a TD on his first play.

On one hand it’s hard to say that McNabb hadn’t earned the benching. He’s got QB rating of 76 and has thrown more INTs than TDs this year… but when your backup is Rex Grossman, it’s hard to figure how he might be better than McNabb. Either way, this just seems to cement what a disaster the trade has been from a Redskins standpoint. Coupled with the fact that McNabb is in the last year of his contract and doesn’t appear close to signing a extension, it’s very likely that the Redskins will have give their division rivals a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th round pick for one season of poor QB play. It will especially galling for the Skins when they hand the Eagles a pick in the upcoming draft for a player that at that point won’t even likely be a member of their team.

Man fuck you, shannahagn and your whole fuckin crew. Fuck outta here wit this bullshit. If Farve can go out and fuck up week after week, then gottdamnit McNabb should be able to hold his spot too.

You fool, we want McNabb to win. The idiot will be back next week, but we want him to try and win... The reason why I support this benching is that it will shake McNabb's brain, but since the Skins have no other options, they will be back to him. You may find pleasure in black men being mediocre (like your guitar skills), I do not not... I want and expect excellence.

Dude, FUCK that article. Shanahan said it himself. Hell is wrong with you? Btw, that happened when your white savior entered the game?

It is McNabb I have a problem with, not the cac Shanahan. My wish and vision is bigger. I want to see black QBs winning the Super Bowl, and to the extent that McNabb may be the best of them, he bears a special responsibility to facilitate that need. The indignity of a benching is temporary and forgettable, but the benefits from it, of a changed attitude, could be historic. It irks me to no end when I hear that fool McNabb talk about 11 winning year in Philly. Fuck you, you never won the Super Bowl. Eli Manning did. You had a chance, but you treated the occasion as if getting there was as good as winning. TO was said you tired, I think you quit, believing that you had done enough...

Maybe you didn't notice the Redskins offensive line was getting manhandled, and they were down to their third string running back, who couldnt help block either.

You pay 80 cents a month to be treated like a bitch by a bunch of strangers.
Explain to me how me NOT PAYING is somehow taking a L.

I pay the totally insignificant sum of 80c a month to be the member of one of the best forums on the internet on which I have downloaded much software and learned a lot. It was on this forum that I figured out how make African music stream from the internet. I was the first person to do this, as far we (the fans of Africa music) know, and now it is a thriving industry that has propelled African musicians to levels of visibility unimaginable just ten short years ago.

HNIC offered me the opportunity to remain an unpaid member, with full access to the forum, but I thought it would be undignified and unfair to all the other people who support this forum.

You should have the honour to do your part instead of the shameful mentality to freeload on everyone else who is subscribing.

Fare statement, but he was doing the same bullshit in Philadelphia in the last few years. Vick took over this year and the Eagles looked invincible all of a sudden...

You should stick to European Football.....You dont know much about American Football.......Every Week you give your opinion on the "hot topic" in football and every week your wrong.

from what i understand, mcsoup was benched because apparently...... apparently grossman has a BETTER command of the 2-minute offense than mcsoup at this point.

mcsoup has been thru training camp, pre-training, etc., etc. but...

Exactly! You brought this man in on Easter Sunday, and he don't know the terminology of your 2 minute offense? :hmm:

If you have any objection to the technical knowledge I may have indicated say it. Otherwise your drivel is nothing but patronisation that is not worth responding to. Go and sit your bony ass down somewhere else. Yes I know football, and I know this American sport too.

Shanahan is lying. He put in Grossman to make a point, but it backfired after Grossman fumbled. He knew that he would be crucified by the brutal Washington press, if not the erratic Snyder, and he concocted the lie above. You never bench your starting veteran QB so that a bumbling idiot like Grossman can lose a game in which you are behind by only one point.

The truth, as the article said, is that Shanahan knows what McNabb is capable of but refuses to do, and that is why he benched the bugger.

The eagles actually drafted young talented receivers for once, and found another running back that mirrors Westbrook in his prime. BTW the Eagles looked pretty unbeatable with McNabb for a good stretch with avg receivers you probably couldn't even name.

Exactly, in those days the bugger tried hard. It was during that time that I hated Andy Reid because he would nothing to get McNabb help. I remember the days of Thigpen and all the erratic receivers who dropped balls that hit the right on the numbers...I think Andy was on an ego trip to win with nobodies so that he could prove that he, not the players, was the key to success....

It is the McNabb of that time everyone wants to see; the one who terrorised the NFC East...

Also, the Redskins already beat the Eagles.

The Redskins defence beat the Eagles, but remember that Vick got injured early in that game. It was irritating to me to see McNabb claim that "They made a mistake". I hope Shanahan has told him with this benching to not take anything for granted.

And Vick got hurt running the ball. It's fun to watch but makes for a injury prone career. No one knows that better than McNabb.

McNabb probably avoided at least 8 to 10 sacks yesterday. Did you see fast Grossman got destroyed yesterday. It's amazing they were even in the game the way the line played.

Offensive line was getting destroyed. 3rd string running back could not pick up
assignments. Who could qb behind that?

vikings calling................

Fuckoff, quit patronising me. I live in America and know more about the American sport than you will ever know about the real football.

McNabb will not be there after this season. He can truly pick and choose which team he wants to go to.

One of two things are going to come out of this. Either we'll find out that McNabb has a shitty work ethic, or Shanahan is full of shit.

I think dude is still bitter because Philly traded his ass. Even though he's saying the right shit he's still hurt by it. After beating Philly in there place McNabb has been like fuck the rest of the season.
