I hate ESPN's nut huggin, giggly school girl, man crush, teenie bopper-esque coverage too...but CAREER wise homie is kinda that dude

:dunno:

Because he has won how many Superbowls?

He won 0 superbowls IMO. Had it not been for the defense and Desmond Howard he would not have a ring. He didn't do shit in that game.

To answer the OP's question, he is not the GOAT. Not even close.

G.O.A.T. in what sense??

Greatest cumulative career QB stats, like Hank Aaron in baseball? Sure. But not the greatest QB or player overall. Right up there though as the equivalent of a great "slugger" in baseball.

HOLD DA FUCK UP!

Ya'll dudez really are trying to say Favre ISN't that dude? The only thing you can bring up IS the amount of INT's ol boy has thrown. But when you hold the record for:

most career passing years
most atts
most completions
most TD passes
Most starts (309)

...nigga...it kind of comes with the territory.

Exactly. GREAT cumulative career stats, but his "averages" and "percentages" don't measure up to the Top 5 or 6 QBs in history. His INT rate isn't all that bad. Pretty much the same as Marino's and better than Moon's. Had a couple of awful INT years that screwed up the numbers.

Mr. Madden? Is that you? Can you tell me what changes are gonna be in your game this year? And can I get a copy for the 30, please? Thanks!:)

Exactly. You can't look at the cumulative numbers alone. Longevity and durability contributed to those more than anything.

In big games, when it was time to get the job done, he did not produce.

When you think about the greatest all-time, your thought process should begin with - it's the Super Bowl, you're down 5 points in the 4th quarter with 1:50 on the clock, ball on the 20. Who do you want as the QB?

My top 3 (no first names needed)
Montana
Unitas
Elway

let me ask ya'll a question.... if i averaged 50 pts a game in the nba from my rookie year to then end of my career and i played about 15 yrs but never won a ring will i be the goat? im just askin

thats about 61,500 points and lets not forget playoff appearance points too

You'd be considered a great player, as you should, but certainly not the GOAT.

You basically just described Dan Marino. And while he's in the discussion people always list the Montana's and Elway's above him.

and averaged 10 TOs a game in the playoffs too?

Wow ... BGOL is actually taking this better than I thought....

In all of sports I don't know a "iron man" / most consecutive games played with a better resume .... in ALL of sports...in FOOTBALL no less...I mean you got AC Green and Cal Ripken as your competition :dunno:

:lol::lol:

Here's my point .... this dude was almost 20 years in the league (18) and is still "leading" his team deep in the playoffs...if it wasn't for that I would not have made the SUGGESTION he may be the GOAT

Without a doubt hands down hell 40PPG would do it IMO

I hate Brett Farve but I will not deny his work when talked about as a player in the NFL. The man is a beast

:lol:I would too, if I was in the league for 100+years:lol:

Thats exactly my point. Your favorite QB would be lucky to play half as long as dude has. He's truly a rarity. Other QB's can't and won't come close to seeing those numbers because they will simply never play that many yrs.

G.O.A.T.???? GTFOH Damn man even Phil Simms has 2 rings. :smh:

Which just proves that winning Super Bowls, alone, shouldn't be a measure of greatness. The long-term track records of performance and overall winning percentage are far more important.
