today at the caucus i nominated myself to become a delegate and was voted in. this is the first time i've ever voted so i am unfrimiliar to the responsibilities of being a delegate. i have some idea that it is a caucus on a larger level. if anyone can give me some helpful information about what i am in for i would be very thankful. :D

Shit if I know. I would have to google it like you. I bet that primarily, you just have to be honest and responsible, as you have a bit of power that most people don't.

I'm proud of you. Whoever you support. I think very highly of the porn lovers that make up this Fam, and you validate that respect.

Shit, I'm gonna do some research on how to be a delegate now. Look, you done inspired me.

You might have a future in politics.

They are chosen 1st at the precinct level, there is a second delegate election at the county and a third at the state level.

If you make it through all three then you get to represent TX at the national convention as a pledged delegate.

I'm a volunteer with Obama Dallas and attended an informational session about this process. Here is the e-mail I wrote to the group..

Fellow Obama Supporters,

I attended a Democratic Party meeting today on the Texas precinct voting process and it’s important that our supporters not only vote in the election, but attend the precinct conventions as well. Here are a few of my notes from the meeting and a document that explains the delegate process.

Quick Notes

You must vote in the primary election to participate in the precinct convention
The conventions start at 7:15 pm on Election Day (March 4th) at your local voting precinct.
You’ll sign in and declare which candidate you support
The number of delegates your precinct sends to the county convention will be calculated
County / Senatorial district delegates for each candidate are calculated based on the number of supporters at the convention. The percentage of delegates for each candidate based on the participation in the precinct convention.
The county / senatorial district delegates are elected.

Example: If the precinct is eligible to send 10 delegates, and Obama gets 4 supports and Clinton gets 6, Clinton would get 6 delegates and Obama would get 4 delegates for the County / Senatorial District convention.

We’ll need to educate our supports supporters on the importance of the convention, and I think we should add it to our call script if its not there.

Please correct any inaccuracies and add any important points I may have missed.
