HULK HOGAN is just days away from launching his own wrestling federation, The Sun can exclusively reveal.

The legendary former WWE champion claims he and ex-WCW supremo Eric Bischoff are currently in discussions to take on his old boss Vince McMahon head-to-head.

He revealed: “Last night me and Eric were getting ready to sign a deal with one of the TV networks here in America.

“We had a little bit of a problem with the licensing and merchandising, which has delayed it.

“But I totally expect we’re going to sign the TV portion of this very soon, because there’s no point in starting any sort of wrestling organisation without the TV locked in place.

“Now we’re just arguing among the lawyers on how to protect the brand and the image and make sure it’s a fair deal for everybody.

“Once we’ve wrapped the TV up we’ll make the official announcement. The network want to make a really big deal of it.”

Hulk added: “The basic idea will be the same as WWE, but I pray to god it’s nothing like what’s on TV now.

“I’m a fan, but it is pretty boring programming. It’s watered down and unexciting, and the viewer doesn’t have any option except to have it shoved down his throat.

“We’re going to have a lot of back story for viewers to understand why these people are doing what they're doing.

“It won’t be family members in the back writing storylines on things they know nothing about.”

Hogan does face one massive hurdle in building his own wrestling group – most of America’s top grapplers are already under contract to WWE, TNA or ROH.

But he maintains: “There are a lot of unhappy campers in the WWE and there are also a new breed of wrestlers that Vince McMahon hasn’t explored yet, that we have.

“And I’m in better shape than I have been for about 10 years.”

Wrestling is just one of many projects for Hulk.

He is the host of the hugely successful American Gladiators remake, has a range of branded products in the shops and is now even the face of the £3.5million FLW Fantasy Fishing game.

So with a second series of Gladiators on the books, and lots of money rolling in, does The Hulkster really want to face the trials and tribulations of the wrestling business once again?

The answers is a resounding 'yes'.

He insists: “Wrestling is in my blood. It will always be a part of my life in some way.”

As Hulk rushed off to call his TV network, we asked what Vince McMahon’s views on his plans were.

“I have no idea what Vince thinks or knows about all of this,” Hogan replied.

“I don’t speak to him.”

hopefully this can be a dominant fed, that can create a new golden age in wrestling.

I don't follow wrestling much, however it should be interesting from a business side to see who wins wrestling's future....

wrestling has had its up and downs as a business, lately its been way down. WWE is just putting out filth, but mcmahon doesn't care 'cuz he can afford to wipe his ass with benjimans. hopefully some good ole competition will breathe new life into this "wrasling" thang

for most its been down since Wrestlemania 17, Vince should've opened his pockets and got the WCW Headliners during the Invasion angle.

That was when I finally gave up on wrestling...when Vince couldn't even bring a decent storyline to a WCW invades the WWF plot, I gave up. There was no way that should've went down as lame as it did...then the NWO invades WWF and that also was extremely lacklustered...

Thank god for MMA now.

It seems like Hogan does this "I'm starting a federation thing" every couple of years around the time of Wrestlemania to scare Vince out of some cash.

remember how he just ended the NWO on TV like that, he fucked the NWO shit up by having Austin beat Hall, and then Rock beat Hogan and then turning Hogan into a face and firing Hall.

That was the worst. That was Vince's ego, completely destroying the NWO in the most bitchified way he could've thought of...just horrible!

It ain't gonna work.Bischoff let McMahon beat him when Bischoff had Ted Turner's money at his disposal.Other than Goldberg he wasn't able to create and then capitalize on new wrestling stars. All the top guys in the WWF(Undertaker,Austin,HHH,Jericho,Mick Foley) other than the Rock were in WCW first and had to leave before they reached the pinacle of their careers. Why? Because Bischoff let the likes of Hogan and Nash and Goldberg and Scott Hall do whatever the fuck they wanted and didn't let anyone else get over.Plus you Hogan old ass is gonna want to wrestle and he's not going to want to lose.

It could work as long as Hulk Hogan isnt the World champion.:lol: Right now wrestling is in the dark ages because of wrestlers like Hogan is taking the spotlight for themselves and they are not letting younger talent get over. That was the problem in the wcw not creating new stars. I just hope that Eric Bishoff learns from the mistakes that were made in wcw.

like having master p manage a wrestling stable..that was so bad that the group opposing them were actually getting cheered

having hogan as the 1st champ would be a good move, having him hold the belt would be shit. They need Heyman or Raven to write.

Good move by Hulk  Vince buying WCW killed wrestling for me. It has not been the same since. Competition is good.
