It was not a joke and judging from Obama's body language when he responded to Bush's appeasment quote the other day he didn't take it as one either.
 
I'm really surprised that the MSM hasn't covered this more agressively. Seems like if Rev Wright's comments were so worthy of of coverage because he criticized America, joking about asassinating the the first Black president ought to rate some attention too. And before anybody starts, fuck Tavis Smiley.

I do have a theory however. 1)Maybe the MSM and the Secret Service agree that extensive coverage of the story might not be in Obama's personal security interests, and 2)Maybe, just maybe, that shit took any further discussion of Rev Wright right off of the table. I can see it now: Gee, Mr McCain, as long as you brought up Rev Wrigth for the milliionth time, would you care to state whether you reject and denounce Gov Huckabee, your religious right surrogate and wannabe VP?

Just a thought.

I would never give the media that much credit. There have been too many instances where what is good to cover for Obama is not good to cover for McCain and Hillary - or the rest of the field. With all the death threats Obama has received, the added security detail that was given to him and a host of quiet concerns that his nomination has - that "joke" was unforgivable.


In politics, how often do you EVER hear a politician refer to a gun shot and ducking, about another politician?!?!!?That s*** is a no-no and stupid. Huck, as usual gets a pass. I just keep reminding myself that this is not "our" media and we don't own it so we are at their mercy. Which F-N sucks....
