Not bad. I copped the dv7 with 17.3 in HD, Beats Audio and Blu Ray. It had a 750 GB hd but it was only 5400 rpm spin speed. I swapped it out for 640 GB 7200 rpm drive. I also swapped sticks from 2 4GB to 2 8GB.

This is my first HP notebook. So far, so good.

Name the price. But if it's over $450 wait a few weeks for Ivy Bridge processors as it will probably get cheaper.

I'm trying to get it for $400, but under that! WHERE!!!???

Don't pay $400 for Intel HD graphics. The speakers on this model may need replacing (I've had fun replacing those for clients) and the battery will slowly die on you because this model is a few years old. Other than that you should enjoy it, play Crysis and Battlefield on low settings with the ATI HD 4250 graphics, attach a larger monitor via HDMI, enjoy Wifi and Bluetooth if you are lucky plus the 3g slot. It's a decent desktop replacement and I've helped someone get the used AMD version for $325 talked down from $350.
