How TV Preachers are profiting from Ignorance....

As a former Jehovah's Witness, organized religion is the oldest hustle after prostitution.

wow... church aint the place for me

Bruh its not the church overall, there are a few bad apples. I go to a church, been involved for years. I know the Pastor personally, he lives in my development. Dude started the church with 20 ppl, now it has over 4500. 2016, the church got together and gave him 20k and brought him a S class as a gift for his Pastoral anniversary. Now, understand Dude still works (on Wall Street), and doesn't take a salary from the church. He took the money and the car, sold the car, and brought 4 single mothers in the church minivans and gave money to a few families who were struggling. He literally kept none of the money or proceeds from the sale of the whip. A LOT of members were swollen, feeling he was ungrateful for their gift, and left the church.

His response: The Shepherds job is to take care of the sheep (biblical reference).

Again, not all Pastors are pimps....

I know a lot of Good ones good brother! Its a shame that, there are 1000s and 1000s of pastors out their, but a handful of them has people speaking against the whole christian dynamic negatively. Dude is a real good man Fam, leaves at 4am everyday to get the train to work, gets home at 630 and still is about church business when he gets home, and doesn't take SHIT from the church...

He literally kept none of the money or proceeds from the sale of the whip. A LOT of the other jumpoffs/members were swollen, feeling he was ungrateful for their "gifts", and left the church.

Glad some of ya'll can distinguish real life from old ass TV sensationalism. This TV segment is at least ten years old.

The average pastor salary is $47,239 annually. The average congregation size is 90.

Always some young puppies on this board putting down the church and don't know shit from water. The church does a lot of good in many areas. More than the U.S. government.

Nah Bruh, these Dudes on this segment are still eating, and some of them in multiples of what was shown here. Copelands net work is 750 mill at this point, Creflo is in the 50 mill range and so is Jakes.

I'm on the finance team at my church, and EVERY time we have a fund raiser or a charitable event, my Pastor is the first person to give to it. We just had a community coat drive, and him and his wife personally gave 2500 to purchase coats, before we even presented it to the church.

My issue is, the church overall is not bad, but a few bad apples leave a bad taste in mouths. Also, its unfortunate that some people have critical thinking deficiencies, and take one or a few instances, and project that universally.... Thats just human nature I guess tho :hmm:

You're right a few leave a bad taste and then those with the bad taste generalize. That rationale can be applied to every industry. It just seems more popular and acceptable to do that to churches and pastors and those that are not as informed fall for this.

Seems like you have a good church bruh.

That's nice but We as a people and Mankind overall need to move away from these myths and fairy tales that are slowly destroying us. When you on the outside looking in it can be scary just how much ignorance is in the general population. It's like that moment Roddy Piper puts on the glasses for the first time in They Live.

I see nothing wrong with it...
If you’re dumb enough to believe in those books, you’re dumb enough to give away all of your money...
Stop investigating the pastors and start investigating the idiotic congregation.
Amen!

CP Alert****

We disagree on this point. Total reliance on things and looking for superman is what is slowly destroying us, just as making blanket proclamations of negativity in a broad context because of a few bad seeds is destructive.

The lack of understanding to what true christianity is and represents is an issue. People take a few traditional, manipulative interpretations, and without fully understanding the complete dynamic and context, make that the entire platform which is unfortunate and more manipulative than the people 'pimping' under the name of religion. It's scary, because most people on the 'outside' will lean toward the views of someone or a group of people, whose only purpose is to discredit something either they don't understand or they don't agree with... The same dynamic which has cause us as a country to be divided and put a Dude like Trump in a position of power.

I don't fully understand Islam, Buddism, Catholicism, or some other religions or believe systems, and in turn, I will not discredit them, refer to them as 'myths' or 'fairy tales' because the tenants of the system is either one I don't follow or understand.

People don't need to move away from anything if it makes them happy, allows them to see the world through a view that gives them inspiration and hope. To make a belief system your beginning and the end is a problem, but to take the positives from any belief system, and use it to empower yourself to success and become a better person is a bigger benefit and the world would be a better place IMO if people followed a blended ideology.

There has to be a balance, but I believe people who stand in self-righteousness and consider themselves the foremost authority on things are more of a destructive problem to society than any religious belief system...

You hear about the positives out weighing the negatives but it's not even close. The most religious people on this planet are overwhelmingly the poorest and least educated. As a Black man walking the Earth today you have to understand this reality to our existence. If the terms "Myths and Fairy Tales" seems harsh and dismissive let it be known I mean no disrespect. However as a people we are in a crisis and are past the point of sugar coating the truth. We have let ignorance become normal. Common sense might as well be on the endangered species list. The end result is our continued demise.

Respect!

They are overwhelmingly the poorest and least educated, and it's not because of religion. There are MANY factors that contribute to this, and while not using a broad brush, most of it is a reliance on someone else or and outside entity to be your source or you COMPLETE savior. Whether is a diety, the government, or other people.

Thats again, another misconception of the core dynamic and message of Christianity, most time a narrative pushed by people who are either jaded by the FEW pimps in the pulpit, or influenced by someone in that vain. A person who truly follows the religion knows:

1) Not to make a man you diety or God
2) There is a requirement of self as well as a belief in God

The people who are negatively impacted by THEIR interpretation of the foundation of the belief system are those who don't follow those core 'rules' if you will.

Also, a lot of people make these preachers their gods, and thats where they fail, and these guys become rich.

Most churches are not sugar coating the truth, and are teaching the true real principles of the belief system, but the media, and people in general created cartoon characters of the few identified cancers, and that has become the broad view of the belief system.

Now if someone can say the majority of the religious people in the world are poor and uneducated BECAUSE of religion, and prove it, I'll stand corrected. But that has not been proven to be the problem....

Damn were you lying about this also? Shit now seems like a big ass lie:smh:

After 911 and Bush money is being cut from other religions other than Christianity. But Christianity is just like the government, empower whiteness and white supremacy. Of course Jesus was black but he was killed for his natural powers as a black being woke up and breaking white control. Where do we think all the money and resources of the world are still going at the present time?

Nah some church in Maple Hts.
When the world church go back to Maple? I thought they left there for South Miles years ago. I'm not into religion at all, but I heard from cats that Vernon always been into religion coming up.

Depends on the church. My church, and the one my sister goes to actually spent the fund money on a community center. The Pastors live in the community and drive average cars.

If you go to a church and the pastor is balling out, rocking jewels and shit you need to leave. I refuse to support a grown ass man selling wolf tickets so he can drive a Bentley
