how to trace a cell phn call / text msg

my sister has been getting unwanted & vulgar messages / call to her cell phn.....
any suggestions on a way to get the most info w/ o going to the police.......

free if possible.....

You can use trapcall to try to find the name associated with the number for the phone calls. I think its free for 30 days then they have different plans based upon what she wants. Not sure how to trace a text message. Depending on who her cellphone carrier is, she may be able to block the text messages from specific numbers. I had a similar problem, trapcall helped for most of the phone calls but no luck on the text messages.
