How much would this house be worth in your area?

"-- Karl Rove's falling real estate value in Florida. As the country experiences a rise in real estate values, the same cannot be said for Karl Rove's home in Rosemary Beach in Walton County, Florida. While it was bought for $165,000 in 2002, it has only been assessed three years later at $155,000. Pretty good deal on tax appraisal but kind of fishy when real estate prices have skyrocketed in the area. A Florida source with good connections in Tallahassee reports that this real estate appraisal is highly dubious."

Look at the recent sales in the area.

75k in south carolina.

unless its in a whites only area then it would be worth 200k

whites only means you have to go sit at a meeting while the locals ask you questions.
then they tell you your not the right "fit" for the neibhorhood.

DAMN!!!! That's funny.

I'm trying to figure out what's up with that fence. Maybe he did that shit on purpose. For a 2400sq ft house with 4 beds and 3 baths I cannot see otherwise why the property value would decrease. I hope the inside looks better than the outside. 5% is supposed to be stucco as well. I can't tell in this photo.

I don't think Rove gives a fuck about that house, he made that in 1 year healping Bush

Tax appraisal values are not necessarily good indicators of the value of the house. You would have to know the tax valuation method of the particular locality to know what correlation the tax value has to an actual appraisal value. Also in most locations "actual" tax appraisals are only done every three years. For instance when I bought my house the appraisal value was 223,000 however the tax assesed value was 165k.

I doubt anything fishy was going on with this. A difference in tax assesed value of 10k probably only means a 200-300 dollar difference in real estate tax assesed.

"rosemary beach"?

a 2 story beach front property* (even beach close)anywhere in florida for $155,000?

let me know where that is cuz from Orlando south I dont think it is possible no matter gulf or atlantic

just looked and its panama city area - personally you couldnt pay me to live in Florida and im glad i didnt move to miami

may not be unreasonable
fuck karl rove and his piece of shit house

NY is sad for that piece of shit and next to the ocean front you'd be looking at 400k eassssy. Maybe more depending on if its in the Jewish part of town then a half mil without blinking. I'm telling you they will say that shit with a str8 face too. NY is for the very rich or the very poor and foreign. (European foreigners of course ie; medicaid, business loans, section 8, food stamps, welfare etc)

Tax appraisal values are not ...
When I said above that the property didn't decrease in value, I
thought that might make the poster pause and think. LOL You're
right, assessed value (for tax purposes) is not the same thing
as FMV - Fair Market Value -- for the purpose of an arm's
length transaction. In many states, the tax assessor's value
tends to be only 80 to 85% of reasonable FMV.
