I bump old threads but I think I do it tastefully... I don't just plaster the front page with a dozen of my own threads and bump them habitually but sometimes when I see a development in something that I remember being discussed here, I think it's better to put it in the context of an older discussion rather than start a new thread.
For instance, I think this is a good reason to bump a thread on the Tulsa Race Massacre:
It can sometimes be striking how almost all of the names are now inactive. But there have been times when I have quoted something an active member said 10-15 years ago and asked if they still thought the same or another follow-up question and gotten an interesting response.

Blocking can be good and bad.
The good is that the person doing the blocking never has to interact with or have the person that they blocked see what the post.
The bad, it allows the person blocking to possibly continue to post and say bullshit and block everyone that confronts or attempts to set them straight.
They get to live in a.m fantasy world where they think that everything that the say is correct and block anyone that disagrees with them.
There's pluses and minuses with it.
