How Many Minutes Do You Run On The Treadmill At Your Gym?

this is the boxing I do for my cardio...I start + end w/ jumping jacks instead of using the rope...I only do this 2x a week...it's fun + gets my heart pumping just the same...I'm using a 70 lb bag

Warm up: Start with 5 minutes of jump roping.

Round 1 "3 minutes": OK, this is the first round. We're going to just get the feel of the bag. Work around the bag using the 1-1 and 1-1-1 combinations.

Rest "1 minute":

Round 2 "3 minutes": Are you tired yet? Now start using the 1-2 combo. When you hit the bag using your straight right you should here the back go WAP!

Rest 2 "1 minute":

Round 3 "3 minutes": OK, you should really be burning those calories now. You should be moving at all times. Start with the 1-2-3. The left hook maybe hard to do at first, but stick with it.

Rest 3 "1 minute": If you're not sweating and your heart beat isn't up then you're moving. Remember you should be moving when you're not punching.

Round 4 "1 minute": 2-3-2. OK start using this combination.

Rest 4 "1 minute": Anytime you are resting you should be using the time to drink some water.

Round 5 "3 Minutes": OK this is the last round. Give it your all! Use the 3-2-3 combo.

Cool down: 5 minutes of jump rope.

I'm in the military so I run about 5 to 6 miles on Monday outside for PT. Then on Tuesday I run on the treadmill. On the treadmill i'll run for 20min but at a 7:00 to 7:30 pace to insure I do two miles in 14 minutes. Wednesdays we do 60/120s for PT. Sprint for 60 sec then walk for 120 sec. We do eight sets of those. Then I hit the treadmill again on Thursday. Friday we do a battery run that about 3 to 4 miles. Then I hit the treadmill Saturday and Sunday. On the days that er run for PT I got to the gym and do muscle workouts. Then on the days we do muscle workouts for PT I hit the treadmill at the gym.

Sounds like that shit caught up on you, dude. You wore you body out.

Naw I'm good, Just choosing not to deal with the exertion from running. Shit we use to run 3-5 miles at least 3 times a week, no treadmill. Shin splints out the ass, heart feels like its gonna jump out your chest, sometimes your legs and feet get numb. And as LSN said, running is boring as fuk. I don't miss none of that shit....

For yall that do it, I salute you.

Jump rope/!skipping for at least half an hour. That's much more effective than running and has more variation.

It's too high impact for me, so I only do it twice a week. I do interval sprints for 13 minutes...1 minute jogging then 30 seconds at about 80% of my max. On the other days I just bike and swim when I can.
Good shit.

Treadmill too bad on my legs

Get my cardio in hooping and jumping rope
Yea that treadmill can fuck you up long term, especially if you already got knee issues.

I try to as much low impact as possible but sometimes you can get in a zone on that treadmill and go for a while. Machine cardio is a combo of bike/elliptical/treadmill/stairmachine (any two or 3). Try not to go over 30minute max on treadmill. 30-45minute warm up and a 15-20 cool down after workout.

Nigga ain't but 28-29 & got da knees of a 50 year old, arthritic man. :smh::lol:

Sad but true :smh::lol:

Always been that way though, those trips up and off the ground from an early age on catching up with a nigga along with not fully taking care of myself

I'll still smoke 90% of you niggas real shit :itsawrap::lol:

Good shit.

I'm never on there more than 30 minutes based on boredom alone

Plus I can get the same sweat I get in those 30 minutes in a lot shorter time doing other stuff with not as much impact

I'll lift for 30 minutes; then get on the elyptical for 30 to 45 minutes depending on how much time I have.

45 minutes to an hour at 7.8 then the last minute at 10.5, 4 days a week.

Lmaooooooo!!!!! 7.8 for 45mins? FUCKING BULLSHIT. You will die. Lying ass morfucker. 10.5 for a min sounds like bullshit too, but if that's what you start off with, then it's okay.

Im not a runner....never have been but this is a very good way to boost your metabolism really quickly. I got this from Funk Roberts....his Sprint Interval Workout.... http://youtu.be/C5c08SWTLqI check it out...you're not spending all damn day on the machines....I usually do it for 30sec on 30sec off but I have tried it for 60 on and 60 off too but still only a couple times a week. Give it a try!

Can't fuck with the treadmill :smh::smh:, outside only. No tracks or concrete. Trails or the beach

I play basketball 2-4 hours 3-5 times a week, but a treadmill is too damn boring... 5 minutes and I'm ready to die

I beast on the treadmill. About 3 days a week between 30 and hour. I will run anywhere between 3 miles to 5 minimum.

Speed average is around 5 to 6 mph.

I rather run outside though. More scenic and less boring. I feel like I have to push myself extremely hard to not get bored of the treadmill, but the results are so obvious when I decide to run outside.

There's no way you can do 6.2 for a mile and finish under 10mins you liar. I do a mile at 7mph everyday and finish at 9 something

5.0 MPH - 12 minute mile
5.2 MPH - 11:32 minute mile
5.4 MPH - 11:07 minute mile
5.6 MPH - 10:43 minute mile
5.8 MPH - 10:21 minute mile
6.0 MPH - 10:00 minute mile
6.2 MPH - 9:41 minute mile
6.4 MPH - 9:23 minute mile
6.6 MPH - 9:05 minute mile
6.8 MPH - 8:49 minute mile
7.0 MPH - 8:34 minute mile
7.2 MPH - 8:20 minute mile
7.4 MPH - 8:06 minute mile
7.6 MPH - 7:54 minute mile
7.8 MPH - 7:42 minute mile
8.0 MPH - 7:30 minute mile
8.2 MPH - 7:19 minute mile
8.4 MPH - 7:09 minute mile
8.6 MPH - 6:59 minute mile
8.8 MPH - 6:49 minute mile
9.0 MPH - 6:40 minute mile
9.2 MPH - 6:31 minute mile
9.4 MPH - 6:23 minute mile
9.6 MPH - 6:15 minute mile
9.8 MPH - 6:07 minute mile
10 MPH - 6:00 minute mile

One thing the treadmill does not account for is stride. I have long strides when I run outside compared to on the mill. Those longer strides will make up for distance, hence is why I can run a mile in shorter time outside

Best I have done outside is 7.5 miles in 2 hours and 15 minutes. That was walking and running of course.

:confused: Really??? Do you know me? I run for fun guy. Just like McGuyver I ran three to five days a week for twenty one years from -16 degree in Korea to 110 in Kuwait. I'm more at ease when I'm running.

1hr 4miles in the morning
1 hr 3 miles in the evening

That's 6 times a week

Got DAMN WTF are you crawling??? I usually do about 3 miles in 30 mins. The only reason it's 30 is because my nike+ run app doesn't count the distance I run when sprinting up and down the bleachers. I swear this app is off sometimes tho, I start a run in about the same spot on the local highschool track and it marks me at a mile at various different spots, sometimes different laps:confused:

For 30 min. after I lift, 3 times a week. I switch it up between the treadmill and elliptical though. On my off-days (when I'm not too lazy) I do an hour or 2 around the neighborhood, walking. I'm too fat to run any kind of distance right now.

Currently doing the 6 weeks to 5k program. Following that on week 5 and it works I am doing my first 5k in about 3 weeks. After I finish the program next week I will start running outside to get used to asphalt. I am 255 pounds but can run with the best of them. Great info on this message board about supplements and training. Keep it up! Get healthy folks!
