How Many Minutes Do You Run On The Treadmill At Your Gym?

before i started mma training

i used to do 7.0 mph for 20-30 min. with 5-8 min. 3.7 mph walk in between.

now that i train in mma, i dont run no more but i do weights. Muay Thai trumphs that treadmill shit. the cardio and calisthenics in muay thai is the best. most ninjas in the gym brag about benching 300, lifting all this shit and being in shape. they try muay thai and ninjas will be passed out in their puddle of sweat.

Are you serious.....?

Very.

Dozens of cats have clowned. I've bet them $20 that they couldn't do four at my pace (average 240+ JJs in 3 minutes). It's the same result every time. A transfer of $20 from their hand to mine. Only three have made it past two rounds.

It's similar to someone who is a good swimmer but hasn't done laps in years. All of those muscles in your body (legs) that you haven't used in a while, for some reason, decide at that inopportune moment to let you know.

Besides, my heart monitor doesn't lie. I burn a lot more calories doing jumping jacks in 45 minutes(walking during 1 minute rests) than I do jogging in 1 hour. With jogging, your body gets efficient at it and it'll find ways to lower your energy expenditure. It's why you see most people at the gym who only get on the treadmill eventually hit a fat loss plateau or you see the gym's resident pudgy dude, with the great cardio, who runs for hours, six months later still the gym's resident pudgy dude.

Every gym's resident pudgy dude who can fuck a treadmill up

I just knocked these out.

Focusing on building muscle mass. Will probably ease back into some form of during the winter.

Not neccessarily cats on this site but I think some dudes just don't like running. Weights and other machines like ellipticals are easier. Like one poster said that running can have an effect on the joints. Cool, but I don't over do it either. Run at 7.0 or 7.5 for 20 minutes two or three days.

bullshit! the elliptical SHITS ON THE TREADMILL

ya jumping jacks is good for me...I just can't imagine fit dudes as you put it getting tired before completing 2 rounds of 3 min jacks...good info tho

I do one 4 mile jog once a week at the local park I 36 minutes.

2 days a week a do a jump rope/jumping jack working with 300 pushups, total workout takes about 30 mins.

The other two days I do 12 60 yard sprints with the last 20 yards going up a steep hill and I do pullups after the 12 sprints. that takes about 15 minute but it kills me, it helps with my 4 mile jog time.

I should have clarified it better. My mistake. The lactic acid buildup is what makes them stop. They quit before reaching the plateau. The calf and sartorius muscles will be on fire the first couple of times and you'll be sore at least a week or more. What will fuck you up is jumping too high at first. Your feet have to barely leave the floor. Your joints will thank you for it.

When I was a teenager back home, there was an older filipino lady that danced on the treadmill like that, she was in her own world with some headphones on jamming

ok I follow now...ya and I keep my jumps low

that fat dude stepping to the name of luv on that treadmill is all you need to know about it's effectiveness

I usually do 20 minutes. They say that's all you need but I see people doing 30 minutes. But running is the shit. It gives you a better cardio. I use to work out at the Boston Sport's Club, then Equinox, a little at Sport's Club LA, and now Gym It.
Started out doing the following

Speed 3.5 and incline 6.0 - I did 2 miles which was about 40 mins

Speed 3.5 and incline 6.0 until 1.70 miles. Then ran at 0 incline 5.3 speed until 2 miles mark.

Speed 3.5 and incline 6.0 until 1.5 miles. Then ran at 0 incline 5.5 speed until 2 miles mark.

Ran 4.5 until 1 mile and walked the second mile

I would like to get to the two mile mark running. Any suggestions?

I run the streets I do half marathons and they are not done on treadmills. I train in the conditions I will run in. Weather is not a factor for me, but to each their own.

Good power walk and light jog after eating some good bean pie gets the sprits goin! A lil buck dancin never hurts either.

running is too boring for me, I will use the cross trainer or the bicycle, btw the bicycle is no joke especially when you turn up the resistance

I find that hard to believe, the sartorius is an accessory muscle, it assist in crossing your knee across your leg like the number 4, people who were tailors injured it often thus referring it to as the tailor muscle

I do 20 minutes on a treadmill at 15 incline, and 1.6, but I may just do jump rope between sets to ramp it up, and this interval training
