"Any one person whose life is affected by whoever is President needs to do better in life."

This is a quote by a bgol member whom I don't recall, but I thought for a minute about that statement. How much does who is elected president affect the common man? And in what ways does it affect the common man?

I would vote for Bernie Sanders, and if he fails I will vote for Hillary. I will not under any circumstances insult Republican and especially not for Donald Trump. If my best case scenario, Bernie Sanders wins, what is the actual effect? If the second best scenario of Hillary wins, what is the effect?

My final question is what would be the true effect of Donald Trump being elected president? I know that he is a hate monger, and I'm surprised that he's gotten this far same it's been a crazy things that he does, but how does his election to the office of President affect John Q public?

Um I don't know....

Multiple wars, bankrupting the country, loss of personal freedoms, uncontrolled cooperate rapage, spending 30% yearly income on health care, kids being educated in a 60 yr old system designed to keep them dumb, religious beliefs over commonsense policies, continued unchecked institutional racism...

Other than that the presidency has no real impact on the common man

Local election results would have a greater impact on everyday Joe the plumber. But the pres can issue executive orders (eg minimum wage increases for federal workers), appoint someone the LIFETIME position of supreme Court justice, etc.

Also, let's not get it too twisted. Congress makes the laws. So if Congress is still mainly Republican, then Trump could get some of his initiatives passed with little resistance.

What I said was that, "If I need any politician to determine my life circumstances, I've already failed at life. I need to find a high caliber handgun, rest the end of the barrel at the roof of my mouth and squeeze. Some of us don't want to reform the system. Some of us want a front row seat to watch when it eventually burns."

If Sanders gets elected every white voter in the battleground states will vote Republican at the local level. His ideals will be impossible to enforce because he will have zero senate and congressional support. That's why republicans really aren't coming out to oppose him. Even Trump, the evil anti-Sanders, would rather attack Ted Cruz and Fox News reporters than go after him.

That's the new Republican strategy. Forget the White House. Focus on winning the Governor's mansion, the Senate and the Congress. If a Democrat wins the White House tie his hands. If he breaks free call him a dictator and circle your wagons around the base. Let them know that your people are the only chance they have to stop this tyrannical madman from destroying their American way of life.
