I had a HD TV 2001, sure it was a big ass rear projection, couldn't get HD signal after the world trade, plus before blue ray there was no HD media format, and not to mention it weighed a ton but it still was a HD TV and those days that was balling.

I still had the 30 inch big back boy with the DVD combo when I started college. I had to carry that son bitch of 3 flights of stairs.

But the end of that year when I moved out, I had already up/down graded to a nice 15' flat screen that I carry under one arm.

Probably around the mid-80s or so as a kid in elementary school. I do remember prices being really high for the early days of VCRs and CD players. Just glanced at Wikipedia - first CD players were sold to consumers in 1982.
