Well today a CALL TO ARMS shot across the internet!
Ancient long forgotten members who haven't been here in awhile, like me, were sought out and told to "come home" and watch the fireworks.
I logged onto the board I'm at primarily now about 10 minutes ago and my Inbox was screaming! "Get back to BGOL - Blunt has been exposed and ocked!" was basically said in 5 different ways.
To that end, I always wondered why Blunt fought extra vigalantly for black women - even for for whom it was apparent to both the ladies and men did not need defending because their actions/manner was indefensible.
Now I know why; he was a pandering, 50-something year old caucasian with a fetish/fantasy for women of color. His comments, often tinted with a slight bit of pompous authority and privilege, came replete with all the tenor and seriousness of a man who defend you in public - only to try to woo you so he could get you to fulfill his fantasy of:
(1) - Having a black queen whom he can parade around
(2) - Calling you a filthy slut in the bedroom
Sadly, I see this in DC very very often. Established white lawyers, lobbyist, etc. parading around with their young black trophies - typically young, naive students with promises of "Hey, I' understand your struggle - I"ll get you in front of XYZ person. Or I'll help you get that internship. Or, I know the dean of XYZ and can help you get into a grad program at ZZZ"
How do you ladies feel about white guys pandering to you, when it's clearly apparent the goal is to feed into their "black fantasy."

But then again you don't see a lot of chicks on White Guy Online or something like that...I'm starting to think perhaps this question might be more valid without the Walter element...my mind has been turning the past couple of days...
