How Deep Does This NFL BoyCott Go? Asking Because . . .

I have a ton of social media friends on Twitter and FB, and 'everybody' is watching and talking about the NFL, but I see not a single soul talking about boycotting.

Are any of your friend, family or associates boycotting?

I didn't boycott because I know Kapernick being signed to a team wouldn't stop the race soldiers but you could just stream the games

It's paying peoples salaries and that ain't just the players. It's an economy that you don't just "boycott" as if you can effect one thing and not the other. It was a stupid tactic from the start. And now that people have taken a fake stance, especially those triggered by Trumps stupid shit, you're now going to see them all back down and it's gonna look like HE won when it was never supposed to be about him in the first place. People have to learn to think and plan long term for shit they want, not react to every way the wind blows.

My brotha, a lot of people think you're white.

Some think I'm white, too.

I think you make a lot of profound points, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with your points if you posted a hand verification. I'll post one, too.

This isn't coming from someone who don't fuck with your perspective, asking you to post a hand verification because they're mad.

What do you say?

I feel you, but I don't care. I'm taking a stand. If no one else does, that's on them. It has to start somewhere.

"We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves."

Personally I think some people don't know what they are boycotting. There's too much confusion. Like if Kap gets signed is the boycott over? Most of us watch on streaming devices that don't count towards Nielsen so are we boycotting? Too much confusion. If we boycott does it effect the black players in the league?

I respect those that are boycotting. I thinks Kap message is getting lost with everyone. I don't blame Kap for that. I blame the public.

That's why someone should speak out to remind people why he is protesting. If not Kaep, then a representative of his.

Players are not boycotting, I'm not boycotting.

Fuck it look like us fans waving pickets signs if the players refuse to sit.

Yeah I get feeling like you don't have to answer these cacs out her who keep saying "we want to hear from you...". But at least talk to us. People putting in work and some don't even know why. Let's keep this movement going.

You should care. It's not about being weak it's about being smart and effective. And it's also not about appearances.

It's been started. Your ancestors created institutions and tools for this. We're living on the plans made by others. We should read o them and adapt them and carry them on. Everyone thinks they're starting and that's just ridiculous

For blacks like me I guess this is something we would be neutral in since Elijah Muhammad referred to this as sport and play. Hell when I was in the 9th grade I only went to the high school ball games to sell dope.
I do not do that now and hope I never do. But the weakness we have showed for continuing to let whites do the thinking for us and acting like they know what is best for us we got to open up our eyes on how to break their control and that starts with taking our mouths out of whites's kitchens.
To have a black man before the nation and the world that is not controlled by a white reality would break the curses and spells that the masses live under. Similar to what happened in the movie "THEY LIVE"

Yeah, I don't care at this point. I'm in the heart of Browns' territory and they are terrible and Kap can't get a job for them? :hmm: They are 0-4.

See. I get that this was initially about police brutality, but what has come since that time is white fans exerting their power. They are the only reason Kap doesn't have a job. They took a stand for their beliefs. They 'wasted' their time calling teams at the very mention of Kap being signed. So if they can take a stand, why can't I?

It's not my fault black fans and players aren't supporting the cause. Cats will come with a million reasons why they won't support a boycott, but those white folks calling up team owners and posting on Yahoo have no fucks to give and are united.

They won. And I see why whites keep winning. No plea coppin' on their end. They the type to smile in your face. Say they can't do work lunch that day because they have an important call to make. Make the call to a team about to sign Kap. And be right back smiling in your face. They on yahoo but telling coworkers they texting their spouse but they really dropping a hateful comment.

Meanwhile, fan actions are said to be worth nothing by those who should be on our side. :smh:

Man I did that already and it doesn't matter. Shaun king can post a hand and what would that prove? ray Lewis could too and we all know how people feel about him. Let's get Tim Wise in here while we're at it.

Clearly the color doesn't matter. It's just if you say something everyone wants to hear or what's cool at the time. I'm black. I think the protest is stupid. I don't even watch football anyway. Haven't for YEARS. Not for protest, just got bored with it. I don't care about no symbolic gestures.

People in here always say white people don't care but will continue to argue with white people about this stupid shit. If they don't care, quit begging them to at the damn games. If you think police brutality is the issue then do what Colin was ready doing. As far as the players, that's their job. They make money doing it, and like Colin, they can use that money to play a part. If they don't, then the next generation will be dealing with the same and that would be a tragedy.

I'm more interested in building shit than destroying. Take away the NFL. Ok. I wouldn't notice it anyway. When do we talk about what we'll make?

It's not that you cant, it's that you shouldn't ever be distracted from your original goal just because some other people do stupid shit.

Revolution takes PLANNING. And once theres a plan, you may have to sit through some times where the enemy thinks they're winning. But that's appearance. Worry about reality. White supremacists got plans why can't you?

The problem with the youth of our culture is that we create trends/movements but we never see it through until the end. If results aren't immediate they give up. White people know this and they jump on it and try to take credit for it.

Unless you constantly remind them who started these trends/movements then it's all for nothing.

I unplugged from the bread and circuses about 3yrs ago!! As a matter of fact, I unplugged from the mainstream media, too!! My reading has gone up thru the roof and I feel better informed, than having those news anchors/actors reading the same story thats on every channel!! Anyway, if your boycotting the nfl, might as well unplug from the whole system!!

No games, no espn shows, no nfl network and as a family (incl extended) we pulled ALL our sons out of football.

Its a wrap, fuck the league.

crazy thing is i mite have only seen 1 game in 4 weeks..i actually was gonna watch it this yr(streaming that is) but i've got caught up in doin so much shit that i've havent been watching..it really sucks that my team is 0 and 4:angry::angry::angry:..this is the yr i predicted superbowl:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

I don't have a huge circle discuss with shit like this. As far as my coworkers go, they are watching football, but they not necessarily "woke" either. Hell, I aint gonna lie, I'm going to continue to watch. A lot of black people have jobs because of the NFL, not just players.

I've been boycotting, so has my girlfriend and son's mother, a diehard packers fan.

The rules are.

No live games or replays
No fantasy football
No NFL merch

It probably won't affect Nelson ratings, but if a bar or restaurant is playing a game I won't go there until the game ends. I won't go to someone's home to watch a game. I don't talk to anyone about football unless it's about kaepernick or the boycott. That social pressure means more than ratings.

My guess is that he will get signed at the deadline by a team desperate to get a wildcard spot. At that point I'll decide whether to keep it going

Good job.

The only people that I know boycotting are people that didn't watch much NFL to begin with.

The same people that only create football related posts when it is the Super Bowl to talk about the commercials.

I've cut down on the amount of NFL I watch but I haven't gone cold turkey.

I watch my team streaming only. But they stanking up the joint. Therefore, I'm finding myself with a lot of free time on Sundays.

I know some hardcore NFL fans like myself who have jumped ship and are not looking back.

Even if this man was to get signed, I probably still wouldn't watch the Not for Long League
