How Can The GOP Blame President Obama For Defaulting On The Debt?

Congress doesn't operate on a filibuster proof majority. All it has to to is get a plurality of votes to pass a bill to the Senate. It takes 218 votes to approve a bill. Republicans have 240 members in congress.

This is further evidences that today's republicans are unfit to hold elected political leadership.

How Can The GOP Blame President Obama For Defaulting On The Debt?

Your question is misleading

Default is not an automatic consequence of not raising the debt ceiling. The govt is collecting over $2 Trillion a year in taxes. The only thing threatening the economy is Pres Obama indirectly telling bondholders we will default if this debt ceiling is not raised.

Remember, Pres Obama said he can't guarantee SS checks will go out August 3

All this is political theater to raise the debt ceiling

This debate is about a "self-imposed" borrowing limit!

The real question; What happens when our creditors impose a lending limit?

Remember thought, everyone blamed Bush for the economy. Sucks when the shit happens to someone you like...

Everyone is unfit to lead if they don't have the liberal credentials stamped on their forehead. No wonder you thought I was a wingnut.

LOL. Did it again. Changed the question to one YOU wanted to answer.

lol, I knew when I did it but in fairness, I said "default is not a consequence of not raising the debt ceiling".

He's trying to steer the debate with "loaded" questions

Bush inherited a balanced budget and a healthy economy. He left president Obama with record debt and an economy in chaos. What part of that don't you get?

Thing that gets me is no one wants to talk about the ridiculous defense budget. Bring those fuckin troops home. We spend more on air conditioning tents in A-stan than the whole damn NASA budget. Billions on jet and diesel fuel. F22s that we dont even use cost 122 mill each, the whole program runs 65 billion. We shoot $68,000 missiles at a few guys on the ground. If we cut back on all that we'd back in the black in a year.

It sad man.

Well it's going to get even sadder

WAR WAR WAR thats what this country was founded on, and what it will always be about

Side Note: Yes, the way American National politics are set up...The President will get the blame

every time

When its going good he gets the credit, when it goes bad its all on him

Pres of US is just one of those jobs. I'm sure he's laughing his way to the bank and so are TPTB

Don't feel bad for Obama, brotha got it made!

Obama is full of it as usual.

So he didn't inherit a terrorism issue, and so-so levies in New Orleans.

You like to only give half of the story to make who you support looks better.

Not to mention, *feels like I said this before* Obama RAN on changing what was suppose to be WRONG with the Bush policies. He, and you need to take responsibility instead of making excuses.

Who gutted FEMA? Who created the Department of Homeland Security? You only remember half of the story.
